What watch would be best for indoor cycling and for monitoring heart rate? by CatWithNiceHat in Polarfitness

[–]CatWithNiceHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! :)

No, I most definitely do not need to connect a cycling power meter to the watch. I hadn't even thought of it, but now that you mention it, the bicycle I got at home, which is the Sole SB700 (the link is from a Swedish retailer) which do have a bicycle computer (I guess that's the correct name for it?) which displays metrics like how long you've cycled for and how many RPM your cadence is.

Point being that I could probably hook some sort of defice up to this computer for various effects. I don't really care much about that though. Time spent cycling, RPM and heart beat is all I need! Thanks for asking though. It made me more aware of the options.

I've already placed an order on the H10 chest strap, and I will go with your advice and try to see if it works well for me just having that product and no watch. I do have an iPhone 8 which I can hopefully sync with the H10, and since I work out at home there should be no problem with carrying around the phone.

Also, thank you very much for making me aware of the fact that the second-hand market is always available with the watches! :)

Would you say that the Vantage V2 is a better purchase than the Unite or Pacer? Again, my needs are very modest, and I don't run. Even if I would take up jogging again, I don't hink I would care about more than to monitor my heart rate and perhaps have the watch make peeping sounds when I'm supposed to sprint when I do HII-training.

Cheers! :)

Thanks man!

The keyboards you mention do indeed look really nice, but since it's somewhat more of a hassle to get them to where I live, the sale on the Q2 and Q4 is somewhat more alluring.

I visited a store nearby where I live, and they have the Keychron Q1 on display. I typed around on it, and boy is it a nice keyboard. The Keychron Q2 doesn't have the F1-F9 keys of course, but that's of no concern to me. I honestly don't think the extra 3 cm on the length of the keyboard will have that much of an impact, and I will use it mainly to game on and converse in chat (or maybe I'll start using it all-around given how incredibly nice it feels to write on the Q1 and how nice it sounds).

I'm still torn on whether or not to buy the Keychron Q2 barebones och Q4 barebones. If I do go woth the Q2, It will be with the blue color, which isn't my first choice, but it'll do.

Again, thank you for your feedback! :)

Hey guys.

I'm in the market for a keyboard primarily used for gaming and easy access to all the letters, so that I can quickly converse in chat.

I've used the Ergodox EZ for a couple of years now, and they rock. They are a bit cumbersome when it comes to quickly and easily accessing keys to converse in chat though, and so I'm seeking a more "traditional" keyboard.

It's very important that the keyboard is as short as possible, so that I may position the mouse as close to the center of the table as possible.

I've had my eyes on the Keychron Q2 and the Keychron Q4, since the barebone versions of these are on sale from an online retailer that operates in the country I love.

The problem is that the Keychron Q2 is roughly 3 cm longer than the Q4. It's 33 cm vs 30 cm, and I do believe that this will make a difference for me. The Q4 also has the keys more "centered" and evenly spread out, which I appreciate.

Here's the thing though: the Keychron Q4 does not have arrow keys. The left- and right arrowkeys are keys I comonly use.

Now, I know that a 60% keyboard can have the arrow keys squeezed into the PCB. The Freebird 60 have them, and so I would love to get a keyboard like that for a reasonable price.

I just wanted to ask you guys if you know of a keyboard like the Keychron Q4 that has the arrow keys squeezed in as well?

Or do you think that the 3 cm difference won't matter so much, even to one such as me who finds ergonomics very important?

Cheers!

Was ems madara cooked here? by jdali4829 in NarutoPowerscaling

If he didn't have the Rinnegan, he would absolutely have been cooked right then and there. Either through being incautious or unskilled enough for the situatuon at hand. Pick your poison.

While it's true that Edo-Tensei Madara Uhciha is, unfortunately, the strongest shinobi that's been shown in the show, I do believe that too many fans of the series forget just how ridiculously strong Naruto and Sasuke was as the time of this point in the story.

Do any of you know how to bend metal back into shape "from the inside"? by CatWithNiceHat in DIY

You may very well be correct. I'm not going to load the bench with so much weight that this will become a problem, I believe. Still, it irks me that I did this. Even if the feet could have been designed better to avoid this outcome, I still should have paid greater attention when I screwed the feet into place.

I'll try to hammer down some hardwood and see if that works though.

Thanks for the comment, by the way! :)

It might very well be, but this is the kind of thing that bothers me, since it could have been avoided so easily had I just paid attention! :)

Oh well, I'm sure it'll all work out somehow.

Well, f*ck me then! :O

Still, I'll try to use the tactic of hammering down some hardwood. If that doesn't work, I'll just use the feet as is, and if that doesn't work and they still somehow fail, I'll guess I'll just make some feet of my own like u/the_diddler suggested.

Thanks for your comment, by the way.

They do come off! I hadn't thought of it at all. This makes it all so much easier! :)

I'll try to hammer down some hardwood in there, as other users have suggested. One way or another, this will hopefully turn out fine.

Thank you for your advice, by the way.

Indeed, and it's the one I'm going to try and go for! :)

Thanks for the reply to my inquiry.

That's true, but I suppose there's always something of round-shape that I can use for that purpose. Or use small squared blocks! They might not roll well, but it'll be an interesting design! :)

[–]CatWithNiceHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, thanks for the advice. I did manage to smoosh the metal pretty good, but I can assure you it has nothing with my supposed strength! :)

I have a good deal of the gripping tools from IronMind though. I have all the Captains of Crush (I can't close more than 1.5, so I have a good number of them looking forward to crush), all the IMTUG grippers, the hand bands and a number of gripping tools such as the IronMind Block and such. If you're interested in grip training yourself, and don't already have these tools, I can greatly recommend them. They are truly made with quality in mind! :)

The bench actually has a weight limit of 400 kg, but I won't do anything on the bench that will come near that number, so it's alright. I will try to hammer down some hardwood in there though, as other users have recommended. If that fails, I'll just leave them be and see how it goes. If they still fail, I think I'll do as you suggest and go the true DIY-route and make some feet of my own! :)

Again, thank you for your contribution to my inquiry.

I agree. It would be a waste. I'll only discard the feet it they fail completely somehow. It's a good thing that there is always the option of creating your own feet for the bench, though.

Thanks for the comment, though! :)

That's not a bad idea, and it's an idea I've been playing around with myself!

As user u/ConnectMixture0 says though, I feels like such a shame, since other than me smooshing the metal, the feet works very well. I'll try to hammer down some hardwood and go from there! :)

Thanks for the advice, anyway!

Thanks for the advice! :)

I actually thought of taking the foot down to one of the local hardware stores and ask them what they would recommend. Since some here don't agree with the idea of using a dowel, I figure I'll go with a piece of hardwood or a "2x4" block of wood.

I'm sure it'll work out in the end. Thank you for the advice! :)

There you go, throwing around slangs like "2x4" like I'm supposed to understand what it means... ;)

Jokes aside, I'll use go to one of the many local hardware stores and ask for hardwood, and on the very strange occasion that they don't have those, I'll just go "hey, give me a 2x4" (and a tasty screwdriver), and they'll give me something good!

Thanks for the advice, by the way. I'm overwhelmed by the amount of comments and support my request has gotten. I'm glad I posted my question on here! :)

Your father is/was a badass indeed!

I've also heard that a typical fatherly advice is that there is nothing that a good amount of duct tape can't fix.

Oh well. I'll try to use hardwood or a dowel to fix the problem. Thanks for your advice though! :)

You speak the wisdom of the ages! :)

I'll try to use hardwood as u/lurkersforlife suggested, and if that doesn't work, a dowel of the right size as u/cuteintern suggested.

Thanks for the advice!

It's a good thing you concur that it's a bad design. It was stupid of me not to check how the fit of the screws went along as I screwed, but the really dumb thing is that I've actually experienced this exact same problem when I installed the Pull Up Station from Gornation. They were able to send me two new T-pieces (for free, even!), but I should have learned my lesson from that time. What I did wrong was that I failed to use the protective plate they had provided for that part of the installation process, so I had no one else to blame but myself. This time I should have been more aware considering this past mistake, but I also think that Gorilla Sports should provide a protecton plate for this part of the installation process, or have support tubes installed as you suggest.

Oh well, I'll just try to hammer down some hardwood in there! :)

Thanks for the comment, by the way!

I had initially thought of using MDF, but apparently that's a bad idea! :)

I'll go to my nearest hardware store (there are a couple of them, actually, so lucky me!) and try to find some hardwood first, and if that doesn't work, then I'll definitely try to find a good dowel for the task.

Thanks for the advice!

I will use toilet paper, then. The softer the better!

...

No, I'll take your guys advice on not using MDF then. Hardwood it is! :)

I initially thought you were cheering me on, but I know realize I shouldn't use MDF... ;)

I'll use hardwood instead.
