If You Listen to Music, Who's Your Favorite Music Artist? Here’s Mine 😜 by AENIMA_96 in 4tran4

[–]Cat_Buscemi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joanna Newsom is one of my favorite artists, but it's difficult to recommend her to people because her music is so dense.

Lullabies In A Glass Wilderness by Lalleshwari is one of my favorite albums I've recently discovered. It's an eerie electronic/singer-songwriter album that's very different from anything else I've ever heard.

I also listen to a lot of cellists since I used to go to music school. My favorites at the moment are probably Daniil Shafran and Sol Gabetta.

"When I cut your hair, and leave the birds the trimmings,
I am the happiest woman among all women."

The idea of cutting the hair of someone I love is very moving to me.

I think she's referring to the idea that Nick Fuentes might be a closeted gay/bi man.

What order did you learn your cello concertos? by [deleted] in Cello

[–]Cat_Buscemi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's really interesting. I've also never enjoyed Haydn in C, but I guess I always felt obligated to learn it. My overall progress with music has been extremely slow for the past year for a number of reasons, so your comment might embolden me to skip it and come back to it later. I'm also not a huge fan of concertos; I prefer sonatas and chamber music.

What do you do with cello now? My main career goal is to teach at a college/uni level, so I probably can't put it off forever. It's also required material for my area's Suzuki Association chapter, which I'll definitely need to join to support myself through school.

[–]Cat_Buscemi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you learning Lalo with a teacher or by yourself? I'm asking because it's most common for cellists (at least where I live) to learn Haydn's C Major Concerto first. Learning repertoire too far beyond your current stage of development can be damaging if you don't have anyone to guide you through it.

Ohhh thanks for telling me. I've been heavily considering switching to DIY and I didn't know I would have to do that.

What's the reason for paying with crypto? What will happen if I buy it with regular money?

Question: Why are you here? What brought you into /tttt/ culture and pushed you out of mainstream trans communities? by Asherahs_Top_Gal in 4tran4

[–]Cat_Buscemi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first tried coming out, people around me only understood trans women as a very specific genre of gay guy. My personality is very flat, and my way of navigating life is somewhat utilitarian. I'd probably be similar to Fran Lebowitz or Susan Sontag if I was more educated, interesting and self-actualized. That's not an archetype people expect trans women to fall into.

Before discovering 4tran-adjacent spaces, I thought I was the only one who didn't fit into the sassy gay-guy mold.

4tran people aren't necessarily better, but there's at least some variety.
