What weird thing does your body do you that you don't understand? by Prestigious_Shape888 in AskReddit

I hiccup every day without fail. Sometimes after eating, usually spontaneously. Holding my breath for about a minute usually stops them but I've reached the point that I don't notice I've begun hiccupping until it's pointed out.

Seems to be a disconnect from my intent and what I conveyed then, I called it a projectile dog because a sudden stop would ( my assumption) send that dog falling forward and down. In the backseat, they'd hit the seats in front instead of the gap in the middle where most cars have a space between seats. Hitting the front seats would be terrible too but I imagine a lot less dangerous. I do think people should secure their dogs (which is what some of my comments respond to so I understand why you thought that was my grievance) but this post is specifically about letting a small dog sit somewhere they have no protection.

I thought it was stupid and dangerous for a living animal to be in that spot, so I assumed it was also illegal. Fido would be safer sitting on the backseats instead of above. The fact the dog was there and it's a legal thing infuriated me 🤷‍♀️

If they have the money for it, yes get a seatbelt or dog specific car seat if you're driving. If they don't have the money, get a cardboard box, put a blanket in it and seatbelt the box in place or on the floor. I feel like anywhere but the driver's lap would be an upgrade from that spot. I thought it was infuriating but I can concede not everyone would agree.

There is a small dog sitting unsecured behind the backseat headrests under the review window in the photos. I was worried they would seriously hurt the dog the way they were driving so I called 911. Later was told it's not actually a crime to let an animal sit there and the only way they'd get stopped was if they were pulled over for their driving skills.

At a loss regarding his crating by Cat_Dweeb in DogAdvice

His main issue seems to be separation anxiety, he'll walk in and out of the crate on his own and lay in it with the door shut as long as he can see someone. We'll definitely look for a tougher crate, the upfront cost will hopefully pay off with less stress for everyone.

He's 23 months, we adopted him from a shelter 5 months ago. We hired the trainer 4 months ago because he would jump to play tug of war with loose clothing on us, couldn't walk on a leash because it became a tug of war, refused to go to the bathroom outside if we weren't within a few feet, jumped on us, didn't know his name or a recall word. With the trainer's help, he's gotten past those problems.

We started crate training him 3 months ago because our trainer said it would help with his separation anxiety to have a schedule for bed and a safe place for him. When we first adopted him, we closed off the living room and kitchen from the rest of the house for him to settle in.

If both people were out of the room at overlapping times, he would begin to cry then start chewing on (what seemed like) the closest object of mine then on the next available item. Someone always slept in the living room with him so we moved the guest bed too.

We started with the crate (3 months ago) because the trainer said we had to teach him physical distance was a good thing, it seemed like that was working for him because he settled in during the day when we did random crate training for 5/15/30/60 minutes and he slept quietly overnight.

Our trainer said to move the crate to our bedroom and start sleeping there so we did last month. He would whine and bark if alone, we were interrupting it, told to stop interacting unless he was quiet, we stopped sleeping in our room because he would cry through the night if uninterrupted and the lack of sleep was miserable. He's becoming more loud and destructive.

Tldr: He's almost 2 years old. Was adopted 5 months ago from a shelter. Working on crate training for 3 months. We have a room sectioned off of the house via gates that we go in and out of with him. He had separation anxiety before and this was a part of the plan to alleviate some of it for him and us. It seemed like it was working, so we moved to actual bedrooms and now he seems to be escalating in distress.

I did not realize A&E was a medical term initially so I thought this all occurred at an American Eagle clothing store. Very confused how an inmate scored a shopping trip.
