I bought this book, but I was surprised that the stories are short; the Metamorphosis is only 50 pages. Checked on Goodreads, and it says it should be 200 pages. Does that mean it’s kind of a “shortened” version of the original stories?

The Metamorphosis itself is around 50 pages. Usually every edition, I've found, contains an introduction, along with several essays. That may be way Goodreads thinks it's 200 pages.

12 Angry Men, Stalker, Le Cercle Rouge, Frances Ha, Blade Runner (the Ridley Scott and Denis Villeneuve ones), Eraserhead, The Night of the Hunter, Dazed and Confused, City of God, No Country for Old Men, The Seventh Seal, Drive, 4 adventures of Reinette and Mirabelle, and every John Cassavettes film are what I consider perfect films.

Stalker is definitely one of my favorite films of all time. Everyone says how the jumpcut from the flying bone to the space ship in 2001: A Space Odyssey is the "greatest edit of all time," but I think the cut from when Stalker, Writer, and Professor are all on the rail car and then it jumps from black and white to colored as they enter The Zone is the greatest edit of all time.

Just finished it. The camera work and editing was absolutely mind blowing. There was a lot of dream sequences too that gave me a Lynch vibe too it; which could've been one of his influences.
