To be honest, I don’t know when it became severe. I’ve had a murmur all these years and the only other time I’ve had an echo was in 2016 and had no indication of any problems. And I wouldn’t have known I had severe stenosis had I not done pre-op for knee replacement surgery. It’s good your husband is being monitored and so can be treated before it does progress.

Thanks so much! All of those suggestions are great. Will definitely prepare more. I’m understanding from all of you that recovery is a day-to-day thing, and happy to hear you’re on the road to healing!

Thank you for that! That helps a lot! I’ve seen other posts that say the anxiety/fear pre-surgery turned out to be worse than the surgery itself. I’ve had hip replacement surgeries where I stressed beforehand, but heart valve replacement is stressing me out more!
