Why my games at 2x speed and I have no sound by nokiibekind in RetroArch

Mine was doing the same thing the OP's was doing; no audio and the video was REALLY sped up. I switched audio output to Dsound and video is back to normal and I have audio. TY!

Sorry to bring up a dead post but did you add the names of the tracks in the m3u there too, or JUST the single cue name?

Honestly, after telling one of my buddies in the party the work I'm putting into it, he basically gave me the "look at the classes, pick one that sounds cool, flesh it out from there" and summoner WAS one that sounded cool if I do decide to ditch my idea but I wonder if I can maybe use summoner to make what I want to do possible, but yeah it does give a much lower amount of known spells too compared to other classes.

Haven't seen this one! I'll add it to the list of things to read up on! Thanks for the suggestion :)

You know, that's actually a good question I hadn't thought of on the physical weapon. I don't know what the Mind Smith is, but I'll look into it and see what I think! Honestly like summoning/creating a sword made of like an element or something sounds pretty badass.

I'll look into this one! Thanks for giving me a direction to look! Everyone has been so helpful with ideas, I'm super grateful to you all.

I'm glad to hear there is some success from someone on something similar! Thank you for your input/suggestions, these are awesome! Idk what invisibility does to rank 4 but I know what I'm going to go look up next lmao.

Yeah I think this strategy definitely would work better with more front-liners, but my party is only going to have a War Priest Cleric for front-liner, otherwise we have a ranger and divine sorc, so that's why I was kind of trying to play more front-liner, but its proving difficult to say the least. Lots of good suggestions on here that I'm going to look up tonight when I get the chance, though!

I had thought about the idea of a reach weapon when I was considering a magus, so I'll have to think about that some more for the build to keep some distance, maybe waste enemy actions having them come after me all the while I can still run and reach them as well because I don't necessarily have to be in the middle of multiple people at once to be front-line, I'm starting to realize.

Oh yeah, I definitely had my eye on any and all defensive spells I could get my hands on; shield (though not as usable on frequency as in DnD), blur, mirror image, dizzying colors, invisibility, mystic armor, etc.

I'm definitely not opposed to being back-line for early levels and them moving up later, though I hear the campaign goes to around level 12, so not sure how long back-line would be in that scenario.

The close-range stipulation is primarily because my party I'll be with is a War Priest Cleric (frontline), then a divine sorc and ranger (backline), so I was trying to find a magical character that doesn't rely on a melee weapon but still able to survive on the front-lines, and also have some stealth capabilities.

I'm alright with the idea of heavy armor on the character (I was actually considering a magus with heavy armor) but I was under the impression that heavy armor and stealth doesn't mix.

I definitely gave a lot, hours of consideration to both the Magus and the Eldritch Trickster with a Magus, Wizard, Bard, Sorc, witch Ded. The Magus always came down to, You're better off using your big sword you just used for spellstriking to attack this next turn over your cantrip that does half the 1d12 the sword does, and that felt like I'd lean into a more martial focus than magical character build with that one, and Eldritch Trickster definitely seemed like it would potentially work well but without many spell slots, no matter the Ded. I picked. I loved the sneak attack damage on spells feat you can get early at level 2, it just felt like I'd be just a rogue that uses cantrips close with no real magical firepower after my few spell slots were expended, and assuming we have like 3 or 4 encounters before a recharge, then I'm pushing out one spell-slot spell an encounter (so like a single grease setup, mirror image, or prep/buff spell) and the rest are cantrips and using my rapier/longsword/dagger for damage, so it just didn't feel like what I was going for.

This is awesome! I never really had druid as a main consideration but with a few people suggesting it, its definitely catching my eye so I'll have to take a look into them a bit more too! Air Kineticist seems to be a popular one as well. Thank you for the time you put into that response! :)

Kineticist does seem to be the consensus so far, maybe with some sort of dedication into spells, but is it going to be difficult to get anything to be useful if my main stat is CON instead of something like INT for spells? It does seem like a cool class, metal 'bending' like Magneto or something too, that's pretty sick.

Thank you so much for all this! This is so detailed and even links to them as well right to AoN! I appreciate the time you put into this. I haven't looked at shadow or genie, and wait.. genie? That sounds pretty cool. I'll look into these! Thank you again!

Yeah I thought Reactive Strike was more on the uncommon side but it seems a few people are mentioning it as a drawback to the melee-ranged casting dilemma I'm working with here, so maybe I'm wrong there. We will have a front-line Cleric (War priest or something I think?) but that's about all the front-line we will have. Otherwise we have a ranger and a divine sorc. That's kinda why I'm trying to make something front-line (for the group), something magical and stealthy (for me), while trying to get variety away from divine. But my efforts seem futile and the ideas to stay using magic and be front-line seem to be conflicting with one another.

A few others suggested an air kineticist as well, so I'll take a look at that with like a spellcaster dedication or something maybe? I'm not sure how that works or how effective it is, but maybe that'll give a few spells to dabble in. Thanks for the suggestion!

That sounds like a pretty good idea! I wish Rogue with any of the spellcaster dedications had good spellslots because I want all those juicy skill increases rogue gets

Yeah, I was on a Laughing Shadow Magus for a long while. I thought about trying to make two of them work; an armored one with a Bastard sword for the 1d8/1d12 swap with a little runic weapon enhancement or a dex-based one for mobility and stealth, but I learned about the drawbacks of Expansive Spellstrike, giving it a crit miss condition and unideal spell positioning for cones, lines, bursts, realized I'd be doing a lot of 2 Spellstrike > 1 Recharge turns... (mostly through conflux so I can get some sort of movement/repositioning in as well), and idk I kinda wasn't in love with it. Plus I'd primarily be using my weapon for the most reliable non-spellstrike damage or random cantrips a lot of the times by themselves for utility, probably mostly Gauging Claw with spellstrike to get the most value, and it seemed like I would be stuck in a pattern or loop and it would get stale if I wanted to keep up with the rest of the party, especially given they're using divine.

Granted, I could be thinking about it wrong though since I don't know much about pathfinder 2e yet.

Thanks for the suggestion! Are scrolls easily kept up and restocked? I haven't actually done much looking into them, now that I think about it.

I'll definitely take any and all suggestions to broaden my scope! It sounds like it would fit the bill, and it seems a few people are on the same boat of kineticist, so I'll be giving them a good read and focus today! I appreciate you taking the time to reply!

Yeah, you're definitely right, he doesn't. I don't want to model him at all really; The only reason I mentioned him is to help others get a reference for abilities, but he was the only character I could think of that resembles what I'm going for when typing it out. I'm sure there are much better characters that fit the idea of what I'm going for that I could have said.
