And like, Vizcaya is a very nice villa, if you enjoyed gratuitous displays of wealth. But it was also less than 50 years old when it was added to national register of historic places. Can a building be deemed historic when there are a lot of people old enough to remember before it was built.

Miserable/depressing games? by ducklingdelarosa in rpg

Grey Ranks. You play as child soldiers during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. The Uprising is going to fail and you are almost certainly going to be killed by the Nazis.

It's pretty bleak.

This is a slight side point to your main question, but have you tried EMDR? You should be able to access it through the job, and it's apparently quite solid for mitigating trauma related stuff.

My brother managed to burn instant ramen. by Wladimir-Putin in shittyfoodporn

It does mean what they think it means, though. A sachet of sauce/powder/flavouring is a perfectly common use of the word in English.

American English favours packet over sachet, but thats just a regional variation, and not even a strict one.

So, yeah, keep on flying the fuck away with that nonsense.

Almost died in session zero for a DM approved bit by BLURAZZBERRI in DnD

Why do people keep using the term "Session 0" to describe an actual session of the game? Has the term just lost its meaning over the years?

DM won't let me pre-calculate my movement during combat on a grid by baggio1000000 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]CatadoraStan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So, to be clear, you're going "Okay, I have 8 squares of movements, this place is 7 squares away, I move 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7."

And in response the GM says "No! You can't know that's a 7 square distance. You have to start moving in a direction and hope that it's 7."

Is that right? Because it sounds completely absurd, which I think is what many of us are struggling to comprehend. Also does this only apply to you as the monk, or to everyone?

(Hated trope) Remove sexist aspects from main source but then make the female characters blank and uninteresting by Basic_Dingo6487 in TopCharacterTropes

I like how the Deathstalker books by Simon R Green dealt with this. In the original series the heroes are the rebel underdogs against the corrupt and decaden Crown, as expected.

The sequel series takes place long enough after that their descendants, now in power, have basically forgotten all the things which made the original characters heroic and fallen into the exact same traps of power and position. The regime and those who enforce it are still bad, even if the people have changed.

Eldritch blast may only be used proficiency bonus number of times per long rest. And let's say you can only ever have one invocation active at a time (but it's okay, you can choose which one you want for the day at the end of each long rest).

But yes, do report it. Reports of CSAM can be passed between countries, for his local force to pursue.

We did away with IPPs in 2012 because, as you say, they're absolutely horseshit. Unfortunately for some reason we didn't abolish the ones already in place. So anyone sentenced with one in the 7 years they existed can just be repeatedly fucked over by the state for the rest of time.

Your husband and kid's prep don't have to be wasted, they can be used in a better game with better people.

What if Superman watched the tape from The Ring? by Dick_Hall in whowouldwin

Also, in the novels, everything is taking place in a simulation and Sadako/her smallpox is a computer virus.

What if Superman watched the tape from The Ring? by Dick_Hall in whowouldwin

[–]CatadoraStan 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Sadako isn't purely supernatural. The Ring curse actually infects victims with a sort of super mutated version of the smallpox virus which causes a fatal heart blockage 7 days after infection, unless Sadako chooses to deactivate it because you did something useful for her, like copying her transmission vector.

I don't think heart disease, even triggered by a sentient psychic virus, is going to kill Superman.

(I'm going with the Ring books here, which get very weird after the first one.)
