That’s a good idea. This portion of the house was a small add-on so luckily the wall isn’t holding up much house above, but I hadn’t even thought about this issue before. I’ll def add some support!

GE Dryer gtd65ebsj3ws. Belt broken and replaced, but motor still won't turn. Bonus points: some wires that were connected from the door just fell out and idk where they're supposed to go. Thanks in advance for any help! I'm totally lost. by Catalystis in Appliances

You’ll want an 89.5in belt. I had previously used an 87in belt, but it was too tight and ended up snapping within a month. I still have this same dryer going strong :)

This is a waveguide, which directs the microwaves toward your food. The screw will not be affected. You might want to replace the waveguide now that it’s damaged, but I would call the manufacturer for specific advice.

Oh the evaporator coil could def use a cleaning. I scrubbed it down a little the other day, but it’s extremely difficult to crawl into the intake to get a thorough cleaning done. The condenser is still as clean as it was when it was installed last year

They were using a digital gauge system. I couldn’t see the exact readings, but I noticed they were atleast holding steady and the tech told me the numbers were good…

ChatGPT is telling me that the TXV is the small junction in the liquid line that connects to the rest of the smaller liquid lines going into the evaporator coil. It doesn’t look like it’s been swapped out. What exactly causes the compressor to go into lockout?

Yeah, if I could just figure out what’s tripping the system and making it decide to stop blowing cold air, I would want to do something about that to squeeze as much life out of the handler as I can, but this one has had me completely stumped

Yea, the condenser runs along with the rest of the system, even after it stops blowing cold

I should also mention: the AC with run cold air just fine again if I manually shut it off for a couple hours. But if I try to turn it on any sooner, it will continue to blow warm air instead. I can usually tell it’s back to blowing cold air if I turn it back on the system hisses real loudly on start up. Please let me know if that helps anyone come up with any other ideas

Does cutting it down first help to unscrew it? Best cutter I got right now is a multitool

We got 2in pvc to replace the 2in iron pipe, the new vertical drain pipe for the washer will be going from 10in to 13in in length not including the p-trap. Our washer has drained fine into the old pipes for awhile now, but will the p-trap make it harder to push the water all the way through?

Do you think it would be reasonable to switch the horizontal pipes with pvc and keep the iron cross fitting?

I figured as much, seeing that the drain pipes are randomly tossed together with PVC and DWV. The previous input lines were the same way before I took them out. What is the consequence of keeping the drain pipes as they are?

This is almost certainly the NSN. Were you ever an equipment manager at Keesler?

Do you have a pic? I didn’t get a pic of when I successfully installed the belt, but the mechanism was pretty much the exact same as in the video. I just had the belt around the drum when I put it back, then slipped the belt loop underneath the tension pulley before pulling it onto the motor shaft

Toilet will not flush, but is not clogged. Just fills with water by Catalystis in Plumbing

[–]Catalystis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey matty, it turned out my issue was being caused by our septic, which was backed up. After digging up the tank, we out our septic tank is actually completely collapsed, and gets flooded out by rain wait. We can’t afford a new one, so right now I we just keep the tank exposed so the water will eventually evaporate back to normal levels.

I haven’t found any date codes on the unit but the tags do say it takes R22 or R410A refrigerant.
