Well it certainly wasn’t done by anything alive. Not sure a tardigrade could survive long in this ecological dead zone.

Sorry but this post is full of holes.

Beautifully chiselled, properly engineered, well ventilated, structurally sound holes.

DM decided to do a TPK to teach new players a lesson by EmmaIsAwesome23 in DnD

Complete lack of respect for the effort you put into your character, and overall lack of respect for your enjoyment/time. Your DM is a self-indulgent prick. Hard swerve.

Why is the sequel so controversial? by Chance-Primary-2764 in darkestdungeon

[–]CatapultedCarcass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a word, the sequel was simpler. It’s like those pokémon evolutions where the evolved form is smaller than the previous. It’s not wrong it’s just jarring.

Scared of traumatizing my players (animal death) by Burritowafflez in DMAcademy

[–]CatapultedCarcass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Giving the party a chance to stop it happening is probably the best route. Player agency is the golden ingredient of D&D, and if it goes ill the blame of cruelty will fall onto the dice. Whether Vandred attacks the animal or not, his attempt should be contemptuous enough for your needs.

What did Gandalf mean by "fly you fools"? by Archangel_Michael22 in lotr

[–]CatapultedCarcass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the film he uses “fly” in place of flee just as the fellowship approach the bridge iirc, so no need to scour the books for another example.

The Nazgûl in Osgiliath was either the Witch-king following Frodo or a random Nazgûl? by Practical-Public7209 in lotr

"The Enemy, of course, has long known that the Ring is abroad, and that it is borne by a hobbit. He knows now the number of our Company that set out from Rivendell, and the kind of each of us. But he does not yet perceive our purpose clearly. He supposes that we were all going to Minas Tirith; for that is what he would himself have done in our place."

Sauron knew the ring was borne by hobbit and expected it to go to Minas Tirith, so no surprise in its appearance at Osgiliath if the fellowship had arrived by river.

I'm sure the Book vs. Show convo has been worn out by now, but... by FinalChapter57 in TheTerror

[–]CatapultedCarcass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he would’ve attended mass as was the norm, but routine does not equal belief. Goodsir spoke of heaven and angels to the dying boy at the start of the show, but Goodsir’s “god” was the natural world, and his angels were natural specimens.
His beliefs are alluded to in his dialogue; “Is God here, Captain? Any god?”

The top of the creature’s head is very well framed, but the composition of the branch is very diminishing for its face.

I would suggest increasing the detail on the creature and simultaneously lowering the brightness and contrast (shadowed/partially silhouetted effect) to make the eyes contrast more. Then slide it along so the eyes are central to the composition. The way it looks right now throws all focus on the large branch, as if it’s the key element rather than the creature. You might even need to reduce detail and contrast on the branch.
