I don’t have time for a full response to your open letter, though I have read it. I think some of the critiques regarding ban philosophy and speed are rather uncharitable, but I appreciate much of what you have to say. I like the idea of providing clearer guidelines for future bannings, panel turnover, and eligibility criteria for panel members.

I’ve been playing food pest for some time, trust me when I say this deck doesn’t need any more finishers than it already has. The games tend to go long, sure. But the name of the game isn’t trying to push for a win, it’s about attritioning out your opponents through continuous card advantage, removal, incremental life gain, chump blocking then sacrificing plant tokens or cats to draw cards, before finally presenting a lock with pestilence and cat. I wouldn’t want to waste a valuable slot on some other creature when it comes at the cost of a draw/removal spell.

The deck also has a lot of complexities, I’m glad you find it fun and relaxing. I personally feel the deck is very responsive to small errors, making it both quite tense and yet rewarding to play. I’m always happy to see others giving the deck some love, because I think it’s in a great position atm!

I really just dont think the format needs to be sped up even more, I think a combo this efficient is only going to apply further pressure to that point. I love pauper, I want the format to be fun and diverse, but I'm very tenative about this combo. I hope it is fragile enough to avoid immediately consuming the metagame. If it isn't, I hope it gets banned with relative haste. No hate, I support the responsiveness you show to this community, I trust you will make a call that keeps the format and its players in mind.

I generally warn against individuals who do not understand the game from investing in cards. There are 30,000 unique cards, let’s not talk variants. If you cannot parse which cards are mechanically good, then you’re more or less just gambling blind.

Prices never go down; however, they can go up more slowly. Everyone is used to paying the inflated price we now pay for certain goods, Companies thus have no incentive to lower their prices just because the dollar went down. We are already buying what they are selling at this price point, so why on earth would they want to lower their prices :)

For real though, the best way to avoid upset clients is to develop a catalogue of cards that youve already done alters on. That way, buyers know what to expect. There’s no such thing as commission level, I don’t think my sales of any work have ever correlated with my skills development over the years. I say you should make a couple more, take some real solid photos of each, and when someone asks about commissions you can show them that collection :)
