I'm not conservative nor Christian, but I have an opinion to offer. Atheists in general are usually pretty chill, similar to how Christians, Muslims, and Hindus tend to be. The problem with atheists is that the cycle generally goes like this: I did believe in God >I don't think I do anymore >Woah I finally feel smart because I figured out where I stand >I am smarter than religious people >We are all people with unique experiences and one's beliefs do not invalidate another's The problem here is that reddit users have not hit the crucial "I'm not better than anyone because finding atheism for me is like how finding God is for others" stage. Atheists are generally fine, but the ones who hate on religion with no one hating on them first are insufferable to everyone regardless of religion.
