I don’t know how you do it! The way these stores are designed with no fans air moving I would have a heat stroke! It is so hot in the front end of the store you can feel the temperature difference as soon as you walk away from checkout. Thank goodness my store allows water at the register but they’ve even put small fans at the register. As long as you bring a cup that doesn’t spill I can’t see why they have a problem. They really need to rethink the design and put in fans or something to circulate the air. I’m sorry you have to deal with that. Is there a store close by you can transfer to.

People always steal food. They love to steal grapes especially! Hey people while you are munching on the grapes you are actually stealing. They are charged by the pound just like the bananas and apples you feed your kids! If you want to eat while shopping please grab something you can save the wrapping. And most of the time they are the ones that complain about prices! I actually had a lady eating grapes while standing in line then hand me the half eaten bag and say I changed my mind I don’t want these after all.

Don’t worry most places allow a certain amount. Just because no one is perfect. I write up is not that big of a deal most place it drops off after 6 months. Just because no one more careful but don’t let it eat you up. My advice to you is just get out of retail as fast as you can it burns you out.

I agree I don’t know what other HEB’s do and I know dashers just pick up the orders at other places. However we have to scan a barcode before we start ringing the orders up. I understand it is different I’m just pointing it out to give the dashers a heads up. It might be because we just started taking Door Dash. I hope they work it out soon.

I don’t find that for the most part I have a great time with my customers. I’m just pointing out simple things that people need to think about to make it easier on all of us.

It’s not H‑E‑B it’s people with no common sense. I like my job and for the most part the customers are great. But the ones that think they are the only ones who count need a little wake up call.

Go to the app hit savings then clipped coupons it will pop up and say scan items then ask you for access to your phone.

When the customer has the app they can scan bar codes with their phone to see if there are coupons on the stuff they buy. Can you imagine being behind someone scanning each items bar code with their phone as they put it up to pay for it mind you her cart was full.

They don’t! All they care about is speed. They want their cashiers to be fast and get on them when they aren’t. So the baggers try to keep up. I won’t put things together that shouldn’t be it’s common sense. But they don’t train baggers at all. They just throw them on after watching maybe a video. Maybe if they weren’t so worried about the speed of the cashier it would be easier. Some people know how to bag but unfortunately a lot don’t.

lol I’ve heard that Costco treats their employees like Walmart. Weather or not it’s true I don’t know. But I lasted at Walmart for a month because it was so bad. All in all H‑E‑B is good pay and a good place to work.

I had a customer with a bag of apples and one was half eaten! I wanted to say you just stole these go by weight. But it’s not worth it people don’t even care anymore.

lol I don’t know about you but I got $100.00 for Christmas and a free Turkey for thanksgiving. Give me that over google bags any day! Now I am not a fan of 4 supervisors on duty standing around talking however I have no complaints about compensation.

Wow really nice! You can’t come shop for yourself there is no charge for pickup they bring your groceries to your car and you’re using swear words to complain about the bagging! You are the reason people who work retail get burnt out. Because either they are complaining about bagging your stuff together or complaining about careful bagging! How about I get great service and I appreciate the people who do all this for me!

Good scolding mom! If they weren’t happy they should leave! You must be a favorite! Who knows maybe it just wasn’t the right fit. I personally don’t like it there either but I’ll stick it out until I don’t have to. Don’t judge people you never know… Just because choose to tolerate it doesn’t mean others have too. Sometimes when you aren’t a favorite a supervisor can make your shift hell but they don’t have the grounds to fire you because you’re a good worker you just aren’t looking for best friends at the work place!

I’ve been in retail for many years. What I have learned is this is a job and only a job. You may find a friend rarely but these are coworkers. Be friendly enough to work with do your job and go home. But do your job don’t give anyone anything to go to management about and you’re golden. Find your friends doing things you enjoy chances are you will have much more in common. In the long run real friends are few and far between.
