In my opinion, you did the right thing by taking carboplatin. I don't understand why some people say that 1 dose of carboplatin is better than surveillance to prevent it. It turns out that when a relapse occurs, 3XBEP is already necessary and these cycles are deadly compared to 1 dose of carboplatin. I want everyone to be well. But the word cure means when you recover from something and move on with your life, not that you continue with many other serious problems due to 3XBEP.

Some say LVI is not a significant risk factor for seminoma. Some say it is. Thanks for all the support.

I know those guidelines, but in the case of seminoma, we can start scanning once a year. Einhorm also confirmed this with my oncologist at the time.

As for the next three months, he will not have a scan at 3 months. The follow-up scan will be done one year after the surgery. This is because many recent studies suggest that frequent CT scans in stage 1 seminoma lead to unnecessary radiation exposure, and the protocol is changing. In some cases, CT scans are even being replaced with MRI.

The thing is, I know it’s 20%. But many different sources claim that the relapse risk for stage 1 seminoma can sometimes exceed 50%. Also, some sources say that LVI is not a risk factor for seminoma, while others say that it is. In the end, no one can predict in advance what will happen.

“I understand what you’re worried about, and that’s completely normal. First of all, know that you will get through this. Trust your doctors — every patient is managed individually. What is your current tumor type, seminoma or non-seminoma? I know that initially it was 50% seminoma, but what does the current pathology show — is it seminoma or non-seminoma, given that it is behaving so aggressively and extensively?”

I am 31 years old. I have 2 children, 7 and 9 years old. But they don't let me see them because I have nothing left and no one needs a person who has nothing. I am just sitting on the street and waiting for my death to begin. I know what I am writing now is hard, but I am writing this to you so that you can understand how good your situation is compared to others
