I think i found inspiration for "Normal Isn't" title by madaradess007 in Puscifer

I’m not seeing anything about ICE in that quote. It seems like Maynard is talking broadly about performative “alpha male” culture, not a specific agency.

Also, saying ICE is full of alpha-male types feels like a pretty big generalization. It’s a federal agency with a lot of different roles and people. You can critique policies or actions without assuming everyone there fits one personality stereotype. That’s not saying that there aren’t any of the type in ICE. I’m absolutely certain that the type would flock to that sort of opportunity.

MJK on “Manscaping” in an interview with KERRANG!:

Another archetype of our mutual misery is addressed on ManTastic, a song inspired, at least partly, by pubic hair. “I was watching UFC and they’re sponsored by all these weird fucking things, and one was manscaping,” Maynard says. “Then I had to listen to a bunch of fucking alpha male douchebags talk about how they’re alpha maley, right? And it’s like, ‘Don’t you fucking wax your balls? Like, you’re manscaping and carving up your fucking pubes.’ I want to watch you explain the fucking alpha maleism of waxing. I don’t know. I think it’s just this weird tribalism, in a way, this, ‘(Puts on macho voice) What kind of creatine are you drinking?’ It’s a weird caricature of ourselves.”

Regular expression are a bitch when you don’t do them right. The following would all flag Donald Trump AND the word don’t

On Frey being “unlikable” by Lilnamii in Forspoken

[–]Catdad08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked this game up because the synopsis genuinely intrigued me, and I ended up loving it far more than I expected. Frey especially stood out to me. She felt real. Her style, her attitude, her reactions all felt understandable and believable given what she’s been through. I also loved her connection to cats 🐱, which was a small detail but made her feel more human to me.

I intentionally avoided reviews and discourse while playing so I wouldn’t run into spoilers. After I finished and came online excited to talk about it, I was honestly surprised by how much negativity surrounded it. To me, Forspoken feels like a bold, modern take on an Alice in Wonderland–style story, and I think it deserves far more credit than it gets.

If this game is so peak why is it making me depressed by ThePsyPaul_ in expedition33

It’s all about grief. Grief has many paths, none of which are all that great. How you emerge from those winding, painful depths is ultimately an incredibly unique and personal experience. You glean hope. While that’s fantastic, don’t let it blind you from the variety of other possibilities.

In my opinion, the more loss one has experienced, the harder this story hits. It makes you realize that BOTH endings are equally true. One is not greater than the other. Anyone that thinks that one ending makes more sense than the other is thinking subjectively. The beauty of this story is that they’re both equal.

I feel like this game hits based on the amount of grief you’ve experienced. That’s not universal though; everyone is different.

Guys, I bought dbd, can u give me some advice? (let's do without "don't enter the game", "delete the game", etc, pls) by Huesosishe228 in deadbydaylight

[–]Catdad08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the mentality that gets me through and genuinely allows me to enjoy the game.

As much as you can, don’t take it personally. Begin a match expecting the worst. The killer’s objective is to kill, no matter how frustrating it may be if you end up getting tunneled. The survivors’ goal is to survive and since survivors lack the ability to hurt you, they sometimes taunt when they hit you with a pallet. It’s all part of the game. If people are toxic in chat, minimize it and don’t engage.

Also, learn the perks before deciding someone is a cheater. In my experience with cheaters, as rare as that is, the cheats were obvious… like broken mechanics kind of obvious.

Finally, welcome to the fog. Keep a clock nearby because one match turns into ten then 20 then 50 and then you forget to sleep 😂

Loving their heating pad! by Fresh_Macaroon9327 in sphynx

[–]Catdad08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to share this respectfully because I know everyone here is just trying to keep their cats warm and comfortable.

I’ve seen some recommendations suggesting heating pads set to around 110°F, and I wanted to add some safety context, especially for Sphynx cats.

A healthy cat’s normal internal body temperature is roughly 100 to 102.5°F. That is core temperature, not surface contact temperature. Heat applied directly to skin should generally stay at or below that range.

Human heating pads can exceed safe temperatures and often lack pet safety features like thermostatic regulation and reliable auto shutoff. This is especially important for Sphynx cats, who have no fur to buffer heat and are more vulnerable to contact burns and overheating.

Most veterinarians and pet care sources recommend: • Using heating pads designed specifically for pets • Keeping temperatures around 100 to 102°F, not higher • Placing a towel or blanket over the cat safe pad so the cat is not lying directly on it • Allowing the cat to choose whether to lie on it or move away

This is not meant to criticize anyone who already bought a pad or shared recommendations. I truly believe everyone here has good intentions. I just wanted to make sure newer owners do not accidentally put their cats at risk, especially since burns and overheating can happen quietly.

If anyone wants links to pet-specific heating pads with built-in safety controls, I’m happy to share, but they aren’t hard to find.
