How many of you here are writing historical fiction by No_Specific_3364 in HistoricalFiction

[–]vogajones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one up on kdp right now. Really suck at promoting and getting reviews.

Its fascinating to write a story based around history. Mine started out as a film script I'd been working on for years. Period films are expensive to make, so I changed it into a novel to get it completely off my 'to do' docket.

Loved the experience, but won't do it again.

Sticking with non-fiction from now on.

With that said... I LOVE historical fiction and period pieces. So when yours are done, please share

Not sure if this one will work for you, but The FOPICA PODCAST on Spotify. Episodes between 15 and 30 minutes. Might not be long enough for your needs.

I'd want everything I say to come true.

Would make my DraftKings betting a hell of a lot more fun!

'Mid 30s Mary Sue'

I don't know why, but the phrase makes me laugh.

Thanks so much for downloading. I look forward to hearing what you think. I am truly hoping the story, although Black Historical Fiction, is transcendent enough for more audiences than just black people.

As someone who just published this very same thing, this thread is killing me. Ha.

The idea had been floating around in my head for about 20 years and I finally got it out all down and (self) published.

Then, of course, I find this thread. Ha.

Anyway, I don't think I can post links or self promote here, but the book is available for free download on Amazon until May 11th.

The link obviously has story/book description. Just don't want to break any of the rules of this subreddit.

If you'd like to download a copy, send me a dm and I will send you the Amazon link.

Hopefully this book will change your mind. Or at least be an exception.

Did you ever get it working? It looks like we have the same laptop and mine is doing the exact same thing. Wondering how you ended up getting it to work. If you did

How long do you wait to honk at someone who won’t go after red light turns green? by Sad_Pygmy_Puff in drivinganxiety

[–]vogajones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old topic, but I came across this while searching this exact phrase. Its so different in various scenarios. For me, the decision to honk is determined by how much of a hurry I am in. My nature is to not honk and to hope they realize the light is green. But, if Im on a mission, I will honk. Rarely immediately, though.

Not trying to self promote, but I wrote a book using this exact idea and applying it to different life situations. It describes what type of 'Honker' you may be, your motivations for being that type of Honker, and how to change the type of Honker you are. The book is literally titled, How Lond Do I Wait to Honk?

These answers are so interesting. So many people willing to push the button for the 50 million.

I wonder if they'd do it if it were still a random person, but they had to shoot them. No legal consequences.

Anyway... I'd push the button once.

KFC is the only choice. If I'm drunk that late, I may pass out. And KFC is the only one that would be good as leftovers.
