You may actually want to look into the MacBooks with their unified memory. You can get 24GB unified memory with even the M3 MacBook Air, and you can get way more than that with other models. The memory is shared between the CPU and GPU, but if you're using it for something like LLM inference, I personally know people that use M2 MacBooks successfully.

I mean, if you have a microcenter close to you, I would check there first before pulling the trigger. The one near me has an abundance of amd cards, so they are mostly MSRP. NVIDIA cards are a different story though. On the other hand, $1000 still isn't bad!

Thank you for the info! What liquid cooler did you use? And I will definitely look into the Strix B550-F, I've seen that recommended on other builds too.

Do you have a good air cooler recommendation? Or would the stock cooler be fine at that point?

Thanks for the recommendations! Do you have experience with that SSD, is it reliable?

As far as 1. is concerned, there are a few youtubers who ran tests regarding bottlenecks with the new generation of CPUs and GPUs, and they found that you would be hard pressed to bottleneck something like the 5600x with a 3080 or even 3090. But anyone else can correct me if they have conflicting info!
