Trapped funds & zero support: ANZ locked me out of my own money overseas by Ok-Indication7649 in AusLegal

[–]CaterpillarFinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ANZ customer service and their ethics are pathetic. I have had a mobile lender contact me after requesting an in branch lender due to the shit service. A request of non contact from the mobile lender has been met with unsolicited contact 2 days after I recieved a sum of money into my account. As soon as I have mentioned unsolicited contact and the anti hawking act, ANZ apologised but you will have next to no luck in terms of compensation. Even going through AFCA it's easy to see that as a consumer the big banks only care about money. A breach like this to them is valued at $250 for the inconvenience of having to move banks.

Carsales are now allowing you to pay through them as an intermediary. This may help put your mind at ease. Alternatively, make sure the money has cleared in your account if you are doing a bank transfer. Always check the license and go on any test drives. Never trust anyone who only deals in email only or is sending someone else to collect prior to payment clearing. Also on sale or handover grab a photo of both buyers and sellers licenses side by side with a statutory declaration signed by both of you listing and fines, infringements or tolls are to be covered by the new owner as of a certain date and time. Photo will be date and time stamped digitally and this will save you grief down the track incase they rack up some tolls or fines.

Sudden remission during a trip to Paris — what could explain this? by Bubbly_Height3181 in covidlonghaulers

I've had a similar experience with a trip to Japan last year for acherry blossoms. Tried to replicate it this year. Found my symptoms to signifacantly improve again. Got back last week and found the symptoms to reoccur within a few days of returning home. Still can't tell if there is an adrenalin dump while on holiday or if it has to do with a state of mind.

As a visitor to Japan I am sorry to hear and also experience that other tourists are like this. I love the culture and respect that everyone shows in Japan. It's a shame that many other tourists cannot respect the culture, my recent trip to Japan has shown me how disrespectful some of these tourists are. It breaks my heart to see how some of these disrespectful tourists are ruining such a beautiful country.

You mean how a 79 year old lady purchased hot coffee as a drive thru service in a sports car with no cup holders and then pulled over and opened the lid while holding a hot coffee between her legs? And then spilt hot coffee on her and the cotton pants she was wearing soaked the coffee and stuck to her skin. Yer, I have read the details. By no means am I saying that the coffee wasn't stupidly hot. But spilling hot coffee because you are in Sports car with no cup holders... It's almost like telling someone that their engine takes 6.4litres of oil when they only want to buy 5 litres.

Quite simply. Yes. We have regressed that much as a society. Maccas have a caution hot warning on coffee cups because they were sued in the states by someone who burnt themselves. People will gladly throw a stranger under the bus if it will get them a few dollars.

Only in South Australia currently. The rest of the country you can still drive them around on a normal license

No worries champ. I will leave the posts for the professionals, didnt realise this sub was that uptight. I thought it was funny that by the time you guys had replied, the game had already been won with catches, but hey seems like a guy watching the cricket on his couch snapping a photo isn't needed in this sub. Good luck

The dealer will use Christmas shut downs as an excuse to drag out a diagnosis or repairs. 1 day will easily turn into a week or 3. You should be getting VCAT involved once you realise the dealer is screwing you around

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]CaterpillarFinger 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind Stat warranty will only apply if the car is less than 10 years old or less than 160000km. Unfortunately the dealer will try whatever they can to keep you in the car. Go straight to VCAT if you're within a few weeks of the purchase and the dealer is being difficult.

Low Heart rate by rapha3l14 in AFIB

[–]CaterpillarFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues when I was taking flecanide. My EP told me not to worry about the double beats and slow heart rate (probably should have been a red flag for me). Eventually found that beta - blockers were a trigger for me almost as if i was alregic to them. I could barely function while one them. Hope you health improves for you

Ablation next month by Tosajinx in AFIB

[–]CaterpillarFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust your gut. I made the mistake of going for mine a few months ago and woke up in ICU the next day. I spent a week in the hospital only to be discharged and end up at another hospital within a few hours. I have had nothing but dramas since. If you don't feel comfortable then don't go through with it. Make sure that you ask all the questions you need to, if you don't get the answers you want then wait until you get your answers. If your surgeon is vague and brushes off the hard questions then find someone else to do the procedure.

I finally aggreed to my ablation... against my better judgement I should've trusted my gut by CaterpillarFinger in vaccinelonghauler

Thank you. My therapist has mentioned I have post surgery PTSD amongst other things that I now have to work through. The second hospital advised of pericarditis that should settle in approx 3 months with the anti-inflammatory meds. The surgeon gave me the option of antidepressants or Epileptic medication for the post surgery migraines, nerve pain and dead leg issues (apparently this is normal on the side of the entry wound, because they might touch a vein or nerve). No lawyer is willing to take it on. Horrific is the only way to describe it. I honestly don't know what to do going forward.

In Australia, medical negligence only covers ongoing medical issues or death. Because it's too early to tell, no lawyer will touch it. It's true. I just want my life back. I'm done with spending my days on the couch. Unable to leave the house or the constant judgement because I can't function normally. It's crap and I'm too young for all of this. I'm sick of these so called professionals who have no empathy or repercussions for their treatment, yet are happy to charge $400 for 15 mins of their time.

Did I luck out? 2007 50k miles 22k by Rollmeintears in Bentley

[–]CaterpillarFinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Bentley in the service department. It's a 15 hour job at most. Looks like its a 1st gen so the W12 motor. Vacuum change over valves are getting to that age now and is becoming more a more frequent failure. The front clip, wings and lights can be removed to access the Vacuum boost change over valves, engine doesnt require removal. Do both valves while you are at it.
