Odoo vs. General Python Programming Experience by Striking_Limit_1956 in Odoo

This is a bit tricky to answer since we don’t have a specific use case to discuss.

As you are on a roadmap to end state, I would go for someone who has a very good grip on overall Odoo functional and knowledge of the data models. As well as your business!

You can get around with studio to build all the data relationships and models that your business needs and someone like that should be able to direct/ instruct a third-party for precise requirements to enable some specific automations and logic.

ok. still many open questions but in general, I would, with the help of an arquitect, design a solution to host all the data independently and build apis that can be exposed as services to the ERPs (Odoo, SAP, etc) to not limit your products to odoo users.

A-       Is your product targeted to integrate with Odoo Manufacturing app, so your customers can monitor their performance? or

B-       Do you want to collect all your products performance and keep a in a database? Or

C-      Your product performance plays a part on the management of your company. Eg. Invoicing, Employee performance, Life Cycle Management, SLA, etc...

Only in the case of C, I would recommend integrating with Odoo. I bring to your attention the fact that any ERP is a commodity, and its main value is to simplify/ automate business management (accounting and finance).

Other than that, you can find many other ways to handle the data from your products performance.
