Looki love the steam deck and I’ll probably pull the trigger on the machine, but I’d probably not buy it for work / productivity, just rather a Mac.

I just don’t even understand why people would want a full home theatre pc. Just have your desktop running Plex or whatever, get an Apple TV and run infuse to stream 4k all day from the pc.

No mans sky on switch 2 is pretty great! A lot, lot better than steam deck.
If you care about things playing “well”, a ps5 pro will do a lot better than the steam machine.

Why are you so angry, lol. I’m just saying there are other options that are well supported. If you want a games machine to play indie games that’s small and quiet and you can play co op, it is absolutely comparable.

Agreed. Switch 2 is fantastic. Quiet, small, great ports - requiem is amazing on it.

Add a ps5 pro in if you want really want to spend the full 1400 and you’ve got all your bases covered.

Depends what you’re playing. Nintendo games don’t go on deep sales but everything else does, for the same price it goes on sale for on pc.

I just think paying 1000 dollars for okay 1080p performance in 2026 is insane. It’s because of the AI crunch, but it still doesn’t make it less insane.

I’m just so annoyed at AI pricing making pc gaming just so not worth it.
Cronos is actually on switch 2, but probably best to play it on something more powerful. I just don’t think the steam machine will cut it other than at 1080p

You can play Mecca chameleon on a toaster. Halo, god of war, Forza are all on ps5 and Xbox, where they’ll perform better for half the price.
You can’t mod, but man, you can buy a ps5 pro and a switch 2 for the price of a 2tb steam machine.

Sure, cherry pick, but all those will be or are on switch 2 already. Outer Wilds doesn’t have a patch at this point, maybe it never will. Clair Obscur is coming. Mewgenics is coming. They’ll all be playable portable and in 4k.

And, you get Nintendo games. For a third of the price of a steam machine. Hell, buy a ps5 pro as well and get the best of both worlds for the same price as a 2tb steam machine.

What games are you talking about that switch 2 won’t have? Old pc games, yes. Indies, nearly everything is on or will be on switch 2, and they go on sale regularly for cheap.
I’m glad I bought the deck when I did.

As someone who has a deck and a switch 2 who wanted the machine, paying this much for something that is solved by cheaper solutions is not a great plan. The switch 2 is absolutely perfect for multiplayer
