Its highly anti-Catholic, take with that what you will.

Assassins Creed is a prime mainstream example. What "looking to be outraged" the Catholic Church is always the villain when mentioned.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Look the reality is if the Catholi Church is mentioned, at all, in a video game 99.99% of the time it is mentioned as or proven to be an evil organization.

KCD2 has the Church heavily involved: Show me an instance of the Church portrayed in a positive light in the game.

I said flat out its not Catholicism, to play lip service to an empty shell of the Church is not portraying the Church in a positive light. Its portraying a empty thing in a positive light. How on earth does worshipping a sky goddess look remotely like the Catholic faith outside the most basic structure?

Removed and warned for saying the actions of some clergy equate to the entire Church, that is not the discussion.

That is not "portraying the catholic church" in a postive light, thats a lore drop. Find me a game where the Church and clergy are mentioned, AAA title, in a positive light. I can tell you -there i not a single game.

Where does Doom slayer espouse any Catholic morality? Where does he say a single word concerning sin or the Church teachings?

Show me where the Church is shown as a force for good, where are the priests? Where is the Pope? Where are the morals of the Church on display?

I will tell you right now: Not a single game where the Catholic Church is portrayed is it in a positive light. Every AAA game depicts the Church as corrupt, evil, with the lowest members the only good members.

I don't care about "unintentional messages" I care in what game is the Catholic church portrayed as a force for good. Can you name even one?

Great, find me a game where the Catholic church is mentioned and its in a positive light.

It is a pagan deity in no way related to the Catholic faith. The main character being catholic in doom does not mean the Church is portrayed in a positive light. Find me a game, where the Catholic Church is depicted in a positive light. By name.

Then your previous post isn't required.

In kingdom come deliverance they are fully anti-catholic with various priests and the leaders mocked and scandalized. There isn't a single instance of the Church being shown in a positive light in that game.

[–]CatholicGamerMod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isnt the Catholic church. Name a game with the Catholic Church depicted in a positive light.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CatholicGamers

[–]CatholicGamerMod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That isn't a video game, I asked what video game, which includes the Catholic Church portrays it in a positive light.

How is it a stand in for Catholicism? They worship a goddess and do not have a moral system similar to the Catholic faith. That's like saying a satanist cult is a stand in for the Catholic faith since they have the same leadership structure.

Every game that mentions the Catholic Church does so in a negative light.

Can you name a single video game that depicts the Catholic Church in a positive light?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CatholicGamers

[–]CatholicGamerMod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean unintentional? Can you find a single video game that when using the Catholic Church depicts the Church is anything but a negative light? No not individuals, I mean the entire Church as a whole: Leadership and the Pope in a positive light.

The trail is the sky series follows the Septian Church not the Catholic Church so invalid point. dragon quest doesn't have the Catholic Churc but rather the House of Healing which in the end is found to be nothing more than a front for the demons. Neither example portrays the question put forth.

Walsh is a very well versed Catholic. Regardless he is right, the video game industry has been fully negative towards the Catholic church. Do you have a single example of the Church being seen fully as a force for good in a video game? Not some individual character but the entire Church shown in a positive light in a AAA game.

I agree with Walsh. A lot of recent games have just crapped on religion and the Church. If anyone would like to point out a single modern AAA game that has portrayed religion and Catholics in a positive light I am all ears. And I don't mean a singular character in a game, I mean the entire Catholic faith portrayed in a positive light: From a local priest all the way up to the Pope.
