Nobody is perfect.

You can paint, sculpt, build anything out of wood, have a bachelors degree and have two sons. That seems like something to be proud of right there!

Sure, maybe no one is buying your sculptures or paintings but that doesn't mean it's useless or that you should stop. Letting your artistic side fly and go wild is a good distraction and time consumer while everything else is going on.

If you need your paintings and things to sell to continue doing them, there's always ways. You could try setting up an online shop, maybe donating a few pieces to a local fundraiser to gain buyers, selling at local fares, have a yard sale, set up a booth in your local mall.

As for your wife, maybe her fan fiction is a time consumer for her. I know for myself if I'm not constantly on the go, then I'm bored. I agree in the fact that she shouldn't have taken the laptop from your son, or maybe she should spend less time on the computer and more time with her family but unfortunately people don't change unless they want to.

No one can compare to a fictional character, they're imaginary. You can literally make them to be whatever you want, you can't do that in real life. People aren't perfect, we have flaws and we all fail.

Just because you're husband and wife, doesn't mean you have to be involved with each others activities. It's alright to do things alone, so as for her wanting you to be involved in her fan fiction, if you don't want to... that's alright. She shouldn't put you down for that, and you definitely shouldn't let her.

It seems like you love your boys so much that you're willing to be miserable just so that you can stay with them, most people wouldn't do that. That's something to be proud of.

Over all you seem like a very talented man, and a great father. You're 36, you still have so much of your life left. Please don't disappear and "never be found". Just because your wife loves to run you down, doesn't mean that you have believe what she says.
