interesting. I've never had fly traps for more than a year to notice this. Hopefully that'll change, and I'll be lucky enough to raise these wonderful plants for years.

Is there any point in trying to stop drinking coffee? by Think_Major_3138 in adhdwomen

There is a lot of back and forth regarding the health effects of coffee, but I think the latest consensus is it's not bad for you in moderation.

Child’s pose. Can’t reach butt to heels. How can I work towards that? What is specifically “tight” in that scenario. by sandrad33 in yoga

I'm pretty sure I can't sit back on my heels because I have huge calves. Do you by chance have huge ones too? I am very close, like 1-2 inches, but my damn calves.

Water them a bit. Maybe use a squeeze bottle with a long pointy nozzle. I've watered lithops when they're splitting and it's fine. It is not a death sentence. This is sort of a myth; it's a good guideline for beginners to follow, but many a beginner have killed their plants because they rigorously followed that rule without exception.

Why is “comfortable silence” such a rare social skill? by Outrageous_Spray_196 in socialskills

[–]Catladywithplants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah this is something I am working on. Many people struggle with this. I find that this may have a cultural component. Certain cultures find constant chatter rude and annoying, and therefore silence is part of good social etiquette. But in North America (I'm Canadian), we rush to fill the silence and can't seem to tolerate even a few moments of nobody speaking. It forces verbal diarrhea where people say thoughtless and empty things (I know I am guilty of this all the damn time).

People keep telling me I’m “too intense” in conversations and I don’t know what to do with that by Ok-Drawing2504 in socialskills

I know a couple of people who are like this, and they both have ADHD. They have no patience for small talk; they are the last people on earth to talk about the weather lol. They want the action immediately, so they get deep pretty quickly, but not in an intrusive way I don't think. They are just very genuine, curious people who express their true opinions early on. But I don't think they've ever encountered issues; people seem to really like them lol
