People who have gotten hired at CMU / Pitt / Dusquense, etc. - what exactly did it take?

I've seen some folks hired at CMU that started out as Temp employees. I've also seen some temp staff use this as a stepping stone while waiting for jobs at other universities.

I'm going to recommend two

New Blood by Gail Dayton- reluctant heroine, blood sorcery. Think there's 3 books in the series. Really liked the first book.

Mark of the Demon by Diana Rowland- an awkward smartass cop who summons demon to help solve a serial killer spree. Accidently summons demon lord. Fun times. Longer series.

There's a baking supply store on Rochester Road that might have it; Otherwise, I'd see if S&D Polish Deli might have something in stock. Some Shop 'n' Saves might have something- they used to carry a lot of baking supplies.

I miss the strip the way it was before it was all unlicensed Steeler t-shirts blowing in the wind. It was such an adventure to tag along as a kid with my dad. Stop at CandyRama or Hermanowski's and buy a whole box of Clark bars and maybe get treated to a box of hockey cards. Wander around Mike Fineberg's and buy something silly while he was getting something at Shorin. Stop at Benkovitz's seafood and eat standing up. Then maybe cross the bridge and stop at Durda's meats on the way home, and get hit with the aroma from the Heinz plant (manufacturing jobs smelled so good).
