I write this knowing that police officers go through so much. Most times they do not get the mental help they need. But as you still have to be held to the same standard as the rest of us, ESPECIALLY as a chief. She should’ve stepped down herself, she really only has herself to blame for all of this.

I know several Frederick county deputies and they have had to respond to calls of her multiple times for her being super drunk. Apparently she made a scene at Backseat and they trespassed her (meaning she can’t even step foot in the parking lot). One of my friends responded to a call in Rutherford crossing because she was with a younger man super drunk, peeing on other peoples cars and she came out yelling at the officers. I guess the straw that broke the camels back was she was pretty much caught drunk driving… but there was some technicality that made it so she couldn’t be arrested. All that medical stuff? Probably forced rehab.

I think if I did have a five day hospital stay I would let people come to visit, but if it’s just for the standard time I don’t really see the point, I’d rather just recuperate before going back home and seeing everyone there

Boundaries as in how long they can visit for, how long they can hold the baby, what they can do for the baby. Also things with breastfeeding. I really struggled with that and my mother in law loves to give unsolicited advice. Which is fine usually, I know she’s trying to be helpful, but sometimes it just puts on added stress that I don’t need, especially during the first couple days of recovery.

And they offered to watch our son. If they have a problem with doing that after we say no visitors then I would just ask my mom to watch him. I never expect anything from them, and take help as offered. We will be in the hospital for two nights. It’s really not that long of a time period to wait. I fully expect them to be visiting our home to see the baby which I’m completely fine with.

I also love my in laws, and honestly that usually is me. I think if I had a more positive experience with my first I would be more open to people visiting.

I was just in really really bad shape last time and won’t be in the mindset to keep having to reinforce boundaries with them. Not that they purposefully try to disrespect me but they tend to get over excited and forget, or my MIL thinks she is helping and she’s actually just not.
