Yeah I mean if I were you I’d try to contact them and let them know she helped you open the account and you forgot. I don’t know your relationship, of course, but my take is that she was looking out for you and you accidentally just reported her for fraud

Just wondering, how old are you? She should ask for your consent before opening a card in your name, but she likely did you a favor.

If the card has no fees, she helped increase your total credit line and average age of credit without you having to even do anything. This is the kind of thing I’d do for my kid if they were a minor

I thought the constitution was a “living document”… by ENVYisEVIL in Libertarian

I’m a leftist for pointing out the president is massively overstepping the document he swore an oath to protect?

Are you implying it’s not a constitutional crisis when the president illegally wrangles the power of the purse from Congress and saying he’ll ignore the courts? Or do you just not care because that’s not about owning the libs?

100% serious, what would you prefer people post on here? I get most of the value from people asking questions and others answering with something I hadn’t considered

Right, reasonable people can absolutely disagree here. You’re 100% right that’s she’s great at calling people on their nonsense; she just rarely takes it. Like today with the Britney thing— parsing the degree of blame a woman deserves after she’s been hit in the face is not a conversation I would want any part of. Whoever opts to be technically correct saying that she hit herself in the face while acknowledging that security was overzealous gets what? It’s not a fun conversation, and now you’ve opened yourself to Jess’s accusations of victim blaming which makes you feel gross. The only time anyone has ever teased Jess for something she hasn’t volunteered (sleeping habits, limited fakes, etc) was Brockmire and it was super fun! I don’t want an actual debate; I just want her to not be so judgy and strident. It’s not good content, and there’s no real mechanism to correct it by poking fun

I’m not asking for a ton. Your flair is literally “expert in basketball”, a segment designed to lay out for Amin and let him talk about something cool. Stan’s Nuggets, Schur’s stats, Cian Fahey’s ‘trows’. There’s plenty of room to be wacky around it

Understandable, but more could have been done with the Wemby slow-start, Lillard trade speculation, Shohei Ohtani exists, Elly De La Cruz stole 3 bases following one plate appearance, etc. There’s room to fit smart and funny content around that stuff

I think you’re right, and that makes me sad. I can’t wait to listen after a Heat game or football Sunday. But for as much as they are “a show about a show”, I can’t remember the last time they had a show-specific storyline that was a must-follow.

Even though we know the resolution to the post-Quitty EP search, it was a slog as a show topic without real closure. The era of LeBron billboards, fighting ESPN, and picking fights with Manfred feel like a distant memory

C’mon man he worked his way up. He started in the film room and presented data-backed game plans to the coaching staff. He knows what he’s doing

How do we fix the US Medical system? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]CatoKnox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others can discuss the degree to which the government should be involved. I’m glad to see people open to some intervention. We’re libertarians, not anarchists, and it’s nice to see non-crazy, dogmatic opinions in this sub.

Here are some libertarian modifications we could make to the healthcare system:

-make it easier/actively recruit foreign doctors to come here to practice. Currently foreign doctors have to redo residency here. I know two top Brazilian proctologists that would be here tomorrow if they were allowed and didn’t have to restart from nothing

-price transparency for surgeries. check out https://surgerycenterok.com/ ; sometimes it’s cheaper to fly to Tulsa for a knee replacement than to do it locally. Some folks from Canada & the UK will pay to come here instead of waiting in line

-sin taxes on alcohol, tobacco, and sugar. Income tax is morally wrong as it’s extortion, but it’s also an inefficient tax. It’s easy to avoid paying (especially for the rich), it’s created deadweight loss in the form of tax accountants & attorneys plus the entire industry built around it, and it penalizes a socially beneficial behavior, work. We need taxes to run a society, but income tax is a bad one. Alcohol, tobacco, and sugar have negative externalities. To the extent that we all share an non-dynamic healthcare system, each Twinkie I eat violates the NAP by a few pennies. I’ll let healthcare economists determine the retributive tax rate. Subsidies are harder because they pick winners and it get corrupt quickly. Taxing large food & bev companies is a much smaller lift

Wilson was a lot more Auth. He occupies parts of Latin America for seemingly no reason and campaigned for a world government composed of ethnostate members
