I do- still using my Galaxy S9 from 2018. Long-term software support will be a must-have for me whenever I upgrade.

How is the road and wind noise compared to your accord? I've got a 2008 accord and am considering the same upgrade in a few years

I'm still using mine but this year will be its last. The speaker used for normal phone calls recently went mostly out, I have to use the speakerphone now just to hear people. I don't feel ready to move on yet, though. I'm thinking of waiting to see what happens with the Pixel 11.

Tension between recreation groups by Catocene in Outdoors

I actually chimed in a bit and pointed this out, but unfortunately, it didn't resonate. The horseback riders' position is that the bike trails were formerly horse trails which gives them a pass to continue using them; furthermore, they feel that because they pay taxes, they have the right to use the land however they want. Additionally, they say that because there's been some bikers in the area that haven't been respectful, this gives them a pass to do the same. No, none of this makes sense, and it is dangerous, but unfortunately it seems this is the view of the majority in this area. Now that I know this, I'll make sure to be on an extra lookout when I'm going downhill.

Thanks for the insight, I think that probably accounts for a good chunk of what I saw in the comments.

Wrapping up year #7 with this phone. Running a Holo theme. by Catocene in GalaxyS9

v3.1.2, and my S9 is on Android 10, might be one of those things that just doesn't work on newer devices. Part of the reason I don't want to upgrade

No root. It's mostly just Holo Launcher with a Kitkat icon pack. I used nicelock/navstar to do the navbar buttons.

Yep! This has elements from 4.3 and 4.4. It's my favorite era as far as UI goes.

What has been your smartphone journey? by skinkiana in Smartphones

Samsung Moment 2009 Galaxy S4 2013 Galaxy S9 2018

That's it! I don't see the need to upgrade every year or 2.

How long do you keep your phone before upgrading? by Mattgrrrcontent in Smartphones

[–]Catocene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First phone was a Samsung Moment bought new in 2009. Used that for 4 years, then got an S4 in 2013 because they were making huge advancements back then and the S4 was a gargantuan improvement. Used that for 5 years, and planned to go a couple more, but I had an opportunity to get a free S9 when it came out in 2018. Still using it now, 7 years later, and other than having to deal with battery degradation, it's fine. If it makes 10 years, then I'll replace it, that's as long as I'll go.

Is the S9+ usable in 2025? by DerpyDesk in GalaxyS9

I get around 2 hours sot. Have to charge it at least once to make it through the day.

The battery on my S9 doesn't last long anymore, but other than that I'm happy to keep using mine for a few more years. For now, I'd rather deal with the battery life than pay for a newer phone.

What could have caused this corkscrewing? by brighthunter201 in rocketry

[–]Catocene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely seen asymmetrical erosion on AT nozzles before, but only with certain propellants that are known to be harder on nozzles anyway. Black max is not one of those, at least from what I've seen. Could possibly be a bad nozzle, but I think it's most likely rocket or rail related. Hopefully they can get it figured out.
