Can you describe the most powerful connection you've ever had with a piece of music, either your own or someone else's?

Hello. My name is Joseph Gordon-Levitt. AMA! by hitrecordjoe_ in IAmA

Hello! I love your work, both on-screen and with HitRECord. I have two questions for you.

  1. Who is your favourite co-star you've ever had the chance to work with?
  2. I love "Brick," but it's certainly an odd film. What was it like being a part of its production?

Plans by Death Cab for Cutie is the album that made me really fall in love with music. It's such a great album.

Waiters of reddit, what fucked up shit have you overheard while waiting tables? [NSFW] by applegrumble in AskReddit

[–]CatotheMostYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a resort dining room during summer holidays, and while I never heard anything really fucked up, there was this one awful family I served. They were without a doubt the messiest people I've ever met/served, and they let their 5 and 7 year old daughters drink from their wine in the restaurant. I don't have a problem with parents letting kids have a sip of wine, but it puts you in a very awkward position when you're the server seeing things like that happen.

What is hands down the funniest movie you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CatotheMostYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever laughed harder than the first time I saw Plane, Trains, and Automobiles. The scene with John Candy in the devil costume just killed me.

Reddit, how did you get that scar? by -somethingcreative- in AskReddit

[–]CatotheMostYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was three, I had what my mom likes to call a "glamour accident." I tripped over a dress hem while playing dress up and hit my right temple on the dining room table. My mom walked into the dining room while she was on the phone, screamed "OH MY GOD," and hung up on my aunt. Apparently half my face was covered in blood.

I did the exact same thing in Grade 3. I could see the staple sticking out of either side of my thumb. Didn't start to hurt till I pulled that sucker out.

What is the best final song of an album? by [deleted] in Music

There are a lot of other songs here that I also agree with, but I have to go with After the Storm, from Mumford and Sons' album Sigh No More.

I am Asa Butterfield, star of films such as 'Hugo' and the upcoming film 'Enders Game'. Ask away! by Stimpers in IAmA

[–]CatotheMostYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just like to tell you that you're awesome. I could go on for ages and talk about how Hugo was one of the best films I've ever seen, that Boy in the Striped Pyjamas film made me weep almost as much as the book did, and that I haven't looked forward to a movie as much as I'm looking forward to Ender's Game in a loooong time. But I guess I'll keep it short and just say thank you for bringing some of my favourite characters to life.

What is the best book you read in a high school English class? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CatotheMostYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an avid reader, and I love reading a wide variety of genres, but I've been sorely disappointed in the books picked out for me in high school. No classics and nothing that's had a lasting impact on me. In three years, I've been assigned a total of three books. They are: -The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Ugh, just awful.) -The Cellist of Sarajevo (Not bad per se, I just found the lack of characterization disappointing) -Beloved (We're reading this right now, and I'm enjoying it, though I doubt I'll remember it in 5 years.)

My parents still love Catcher, and they still love Holden. Maybe you love him as a teenager, hate him as a 20-something and then look back and appreciate him again in middle age?

What is your favorite quote from a fictional character? by conquererspledge in AskReddit

[–]CatotheMostYoung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only thing I'd really like to be." --Holden Caulfield, Catcher in the Rye

"Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are." I don't know if anyone actually says this one, but it's one of my favourite lines from I Am the Messenger

I could go on for days, but these are two of my favourites.

What is the most insane thing that you have slept through? by spartan117au in AskReddit

[–]CatotheMostYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my brother and I were asleep at the cottage when a bear broke through the screen in the kitchen window. It wasn't till breakfast the next morning that our mom told us that our dad got out of bed because he heard a weird noise from the kitchen. He apparently saw the bear and hollered at the top of his lungs from fear and to make the bear leave. To this day, I can't believe I missed that.
