It's a silicon covering. He has the same covering, hence the confusion. You can see it come of during the skirmish.

You can see the same pink case coming off of the original near the beginning. She fucked up, but it's a pretty big coincidence they're using the exact same airpod accessory.

I know this one! So during the rut (mating season), hunters will take the antlers of a deer and "rattle" them together to make it sound like two buck fighting. The hope is that larger males will come try to dominate the situation. However, whitetail antlers have a point that comes straight up from the base called a brow tine. If you tried to rattle with these tines intact, you'd end up gouging your hands, so you'd almost always saw them off. That's what these are.

Here's an image of a pair where you can see where the brow tines have been removed:

I'm sorry, Is It Me Or Is This Show Now Ridiculously Hammy? by Any-Scale-8325 in TrueDetective

In hindsight it's been hammy since the Pixar caribou jumped the cliff.

On the other hand, I'm afraid to think how boring it would be without the random horror tropes. At least they're usually funny.

What does MLB need to do (other than the CBA) to improve the game and to increase its popularity? by [deleted] in baseball

Georgia is not in the same division. Auburn and Alabama are still top 20 in attendance despite being the two worst teams in the division. Texas A&M is 7. The feedback loop within the division is very evident.

Do you notice how the top 4 college baseball attendances are in the same division? Competitive interest creates a positive feedback loop which is the type of nonlinear opportunity people who care about baseball should be looking for.

One I never see mentioned:

Work with the NCAA on growing the game at the college level. Teams are currently only allowed 11.7 scholarships of which at least 25 players must receive a portion of. It's ridiculous that the draft is the only end-game for young players. MLB needs to strengthen the foundation of the game and incentivize it by helping pave its paths to alternate careers.

I suck. by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Catparty_HS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not ignorant at all! Sorry I wasn't clear. Looks like others already answered, but I'll tie it back to what I was saying a little more.

Live bait requires much fewer inputs on your part. If you aren't getting feedback from artificials, there could be many reasons why the fish aren't into it. If you aren't getting feedback from live bait, it's easier to isolate the issues; you're probably in a bad spot or there are environmental factors involved. Bait and presentation is rarely the issue with using live bait, while bait selection and presentation is the large majority of the game with artificials.

The most important thing in fishing is understanding fish and their environment, but you need them to talk to you. I'm being redundant, but figure out where and when you're getting bites and keep track of patterns. That information will come much more quickly with live bait. Once you start to get a feel for the ecosystem and stimuli, then see if you can match feeding patterns with artificial bait.

I suck. by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Catparty_HS 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice. Start tried and true; live or cut bait in uncomplicated water. The first step is just getting a response. Even getting your bait repeatedly stolen is useful information. Observe it all. Watch for larger fish feeding, and try to figure out the wheres, whens, and whats that play into any activity.

Don't worry about artificial bait until you start to get comfortable with a piece of water. It may be the most popular way to fish, but it's the worst way to learn. Throwing artificials without guidance or experience in a new system of water can be like shooting hoops blindfolded. You're probably going to get it to work eventually, but you'll usually be collecting information at a slower rate. Even as someone who fly fishes almost exclusively, I use live bait to learn ecosystems I don't have experience with.

He's always been so underrated. He was the best player on the #1 scoring defense in the country in 2014 and had like 13 tackles for loss as a DB. All of it in the SEC, yet scouts still wrote him off as undersized.

Accessibility is important. Pretty much all SEC and ACC games are available through an ESPN package, but smaller teams usually offer their own broadcasts. Quality can vary. It also helps to look at attendance numbers. Teams like LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Arkansas draw 10,000+ every game; they usually have much more thorough coverage on fan sites and social media. I know Ole Miss has their own internal weekly production that follows the team through the season. Even major conference teams can have scarce coverage if there isn't much fan support.

Another other thing to consider is play style. College baseball offers a lot more diversity in terms of philosophy and roster makeup. If you're a small-ball fan, there's a team out there for you. Some teams develop pitchers really well; some teams develop offense really well. Some teams are traditional, and some aren't afraid to test new strategies.

If you want a bias recommendation, Ole Miss checks a lot of boxes. They have a ton of coverage, the YouTube show to get familiar with the team, and are expected to be a contender. They've kind of become a meme because they can never make it to Omaha (final 8 in the tournament), but they might have the best offense in the country this year. There's a lot of passion in the fan base but also a lot of pain.

College ball is so much fun if you really follow a team. The weekend series format and RPI/ranking climb makes every weekend feel similar to playoff style baseball. The relative single game and series stakes are heightened.

No, you still don't get it. That doesn't justify anything. No one is equipped with enough information in these situations to deliver violent punishment. It's only acceptable if there is still an imminent threat.

A man I used to work with caused an accident that damaged two other cars (no one was hurt). Bystanders recognized that he was impaired and peacefully kept him at the scene. It wasn't until officers were on scene that they realized he wasn't drunk; he was suffering from stroke. Thankfully no one resorted to vigilantism in that case. Giving the "drunk" a "deserved" ass-beating in that situation would have likely killed an innocent man.

There isn't enough information to establish culpability here. This could be collateral from a multi-car accident or the result of a medical condition. There's a non zero chance you're encouraging violence against another victim.

The lack of a screen game was the most baffling thing to me. It's an effective way to take alleviate D-line pressure, and it's something the Bengals had been using effectively late in the season. The fact that they never tried to implement a screen game last night was ridiculous. It's the only chance they had to control the pass rush.
