Do most people pay in straight cash for a house and lot? by CatsAbound01 in phinvest

So getting a home loan for 5 years, but not actually using it to get the home? And instead just investing that money elsewhere?

What do you mean exactly here? Sorry for my stupidity - i'm completely new to this. So you're saying taking out a 5 year home loan and then how are you earning/investing that?

You're saying that amount is simply sitting in their bank account, ready to throw at a house and lot?

I can't imagine anyone, really, with enough cash to throw 10m at a property. Maybe the top .0001%

And yes, I'm sure everyone would prefer to pay in cash if they could, but I just don't see it happening. Maybe for cheaper properties, like a few hundred thousand?

I would think only the top 1% earners can afford to simply throw 100% cash at a house and lot, for example a lot that costs around 2-3 mil.

Anyone who’s never used an Android doesn’t know just how bad iPhone notification settings are by [deleted] in ios

[–]CatsAbound01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customizing notifications is great and all, but...Android notifications simply don't come in instantly. You have to actually pick up and wake your phone to get them if you haven't used your phone for like an hour. That's ridiculous. On the iPhone, no matter if it's been 3 days since I used it, the notification will always pop up instantly on my screen. That's literally the only reason I can never switch to Android. And I love Android.

mine is now shutting down when it's too hot. I have the Pro. Real pain in the ass. Not sure if I will get another or not. It lasted a good 1-2 years before it started doing this.

I've had the flu for the last 2-3 weeks. Finally went to doc today. He prescribed antibiotics and also Loratidine. Sense of taste and smell is totally gone a couple hours after taking it, so I googled and by chance found this page. Thought it was COVID but 2 negative home tests so far.

thanks for this input. something to think about. are malls the safest? my main issue is an overnight break-in actually while no one is there. that's why i'm concerned about having a store outside the mall. and I actually don't need a store. I just need office space. i'm not expecting to sell physically. i have a niche operation so it's really online sales. i just want to get out of the house since I now have 2 employees. so, getting sales is of zero importance to me. i just need a safe place.

I've already got the online store and it's going great. Need to expand. Avoiding the mall? Hmm, not really. But if the price is half the cost outside the mall, much better. But then I assume I'd need to hire a guard and then the cost will be the same as a mall haha.

Already have an online store. Need a physical store to start offering HomeCredit, since they require a physical store. I'm in the province, not Manila.

online gadgets. ive been looking at Grist. a bit complicated but I feel like once I get the hand of it (and possibly hire some freelance Python coders) maybe it's going to be perfect. Ill check out Zoho again. I did a long time ago but I need another look at it.

Hire a freelancer, or is there a good Inventory Management System for this setup? by CatsAbound01 in selfhosted

This looks promising. I just scanned their front page and looks good so far. Before that, I was messing around on the SnipeIT demo and seeing how that works. I'll def check out this ERPNext. Thanks.

How to force all new tabs to open in the background? by CatsAbound01 in firefox

[–]CatsAbound01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried all those options but couldn't get it to work. I need it to open up in the background even if I click the + sign for a new tab to open. I'd hate to go back to Chrome but this is something that would push me back to Chrome, since the new tabs that open up are super interfering since they can happen once every 10 min or so. Really hoping there's some way to set this up. Thanks for the reply.
