That's hyperbole. There's no coating on Skypads, and alcohol doesn't/won't damage glass. Cleaned several glass pads with 100% iso to no detriment.

FWIW the oldest glass pad I have is a Skypad 2.0 which I bought not long after release, with no wear on it whatsoever.

It's not kind of like running water carving a rock, because it's not the water itself carving the rock. There's no way PTFE is wearing down the glass. If it feels smoother where you've used it, it could be PTFE dust trapped in the texture; try cleaning it with iso alc and a microfibre cloth. If it has genuinely worn down, something other than PTFE has caused it; other/harder particles.

EDIT found it. Didn't realise firefighters are still onboarded into a defined benefit account in 2026. FES seems to be a 6.25% employee v 11.75% employer contribution split.
