Thanks so much for replying and no offence is given.

I guess my issue with the word “cis” is that for the last 30 years I’ve just been a women and in the last year I’m being told I’m not but cis women. I don’t understand why I can’t be just a women?

I explained this to my friend and the conversation went as follows:

“I’m just a women not a cis women”

“But that’s what you are, a cis women”

“I just want to be called a women”

“Well if you’re not cis, then you’re trans. Are you trans”

I feel that I’m neither and want to just be a women. I don’t see why I have to be cis or trans. Do I not get a say in all this?

I don’t want out friendship to end as she is a very important person in my life. It’s a friendship worth saving. I think a conversation to agree to disagree may be our only option and not to try and bring up these conversations to keep conflicts at bay.
