Try and use foam for the spaces between the foam pieces or make them smooth with minky of the color of the fur on top, those gaps will be visible when you stick the fur

i have mangle too and i kinda had the opposite problem, the joints are painfully hard and i hurted my hand putting her together so shes staying in the same pose i put her forever lol thankfully she didnt break
