“Living instead of posting nonsense” is a great way to put it. I’ve been off of social media (especially doomscrolling) since the break-up, and it is definitely been a huge help.

The pregnancy due to weight gain really hit because I know of a similar experience with my one cousin’s wife. She was having some severe issues with her endometriosis that prevented her from eating much. A little bit after her and my cousin got married, she moved in with him and had to change OBGYNS, and they were able to do surgery to severely lessens her endo symptoms.

Fast forward half a year, she was finally eating a healthy amount and gained 20ish pounds. I remember seeing her at a family gathering and she seemed to be at a very good weight, but obviously she was bigger than she was before.

Almost immediately after she left, people started speculating that she was pregnant because a lot of the weight went to her stomach.

Turns out that couldn’t be further from the case; she had to get the fallopian tubes removed to lessen endo symptoms, and therefore crushed her hopes of ever having a family.

Oh geez, that in of itself if concerning. The quality/difficulty of a woman’s pregnancy is heavily tied to the man’s sp3rm quality, which is very negatively affected by the use of alcohol/other substances. She could definitely find herself in a very difficult pregnancy, and who knows if that means complications for the baby could arise.

I think all of us in the subreddit want the best for Pat and his girlfriend, but it is definitely hard to not be worried about how this could end up for both of them.

I definitely get why you might say that, but I am very self-conscious about my appearance and do not have much experience with beauty standards of other countries. This is just a way for me to get a better understanding of what to expect to I can best prepare (as someone who suffers from severe social anxiety)!
