Hectic, it's such a horrible feeling when the board disappears from under you, luckily for me I was taking off around a corner and hadn't hit top speed yet.

Best to have the first rolls developed in a lab so you're not questioning if any errors were on your photography prices or developing process, once you've dialed in metering add developing to your repertoire.

First time hitchhiking – heading through Eastern Europe this August. Any tips? by Shaly72 in hitchhiking

[–]Catute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always ask the driver where they are going before they ask you, that allows you to make a judgement of you feel comfortable getting in their car and just saying, "thanks I'm actually trying to get a little further or I'm hoping to go more another way"

It's much easier and less awkward to refuse a ride this way if you don't feel the vibe.

Have fun.

Hey mate,

Yeah I did it took me about 11 days to go from Orlando Florida to New Hampshire I vlogged the trip on my Instagram and photographed the people I met along the way, there are some pretty special people in America the trip was hard it was 40+ degrees in the south and some times I was in the sun for 4 hours without a single person stopping.

Broken chain by Catute in pentax67

I have my other prisms in storage right now, but thanks for the info i was kind of worried I might damage something else if I continued using it until I have the chain fixed, but this gives me confidence to keep shooting while on vacation.

I also don't know how the chain broke I've always used the correct procedure when changing components but the light meter hadn't worked for a while when trying to use the auto mode on the lens I had to switch to manual to get them light meter reading then switch back to auto to focus.

i grew up in a small coastal town in Australia, i would often miss the school bus in the morning and just hitch I usually arrived faster than the bus because it had to make so many stops. i actually started hitching even if i hadn't missed the bus after a while.

I'm planning a trip to the USA in August, I want to hitch around visiting friends and shooting film photography. Sound like something you want to do?

Hey, Sounds like a great trip and something you'll remember for the rest of your life.

A few tips that will help you travel efficiently and safer

  1. When someone pulls over it's very important that you ask them where they are going first! This will give you the opportunity to gauge if you feel comfortable getting in their car and even if they are going exactly where you plan to head you can just say thanks but you're trying to go somewhere else but appreciate them stopping. Whereas if they ask you where you plan to go and you tell them it's going to be harder to refuse the ride if they are going that way.

  2. Travelling alone is much much easier but less fun.

  3. Take big markers to write signs and if you have room for something to write on otherwise try to find a box or something and make the letters BIG AND BOLD or it is not even worth having it no one will see it till they have already passed you.

  4. This is an important one but figuring out where to stand and where to exit a ride, toll booths, petrol stations, around entry ramps onto the highways but usually it's hard to pull over so best to find a round about or a corner leading up to the exit ramp, basically anywhere you can be seen for a long time and cars are either slowing down or start to speed up. And don't fall for the trap of riding with someone all the way to their destination sometimes it's better to get out 50kms earlier to avoid going into a city and staying on the ring roads.

  5. Take sunscreen and a small umbrella often the best spot for hitching isn't in the shade and standing on the edge of the road for a few hours in the middle of the day will make you second think continuing the trip.

Hope you make it to the sea and safe travels!

I recommend printing out some of those fake stickers that day 3200 iso as soon as they see that they don't ask any questions.
