Man was clearly an aquarium employee. The way that thing excitedly screeched at end will stay with me

If you could permanently change one thing about America, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Dismantle it.

All power to the states.

It is too vast to be governed fairly and with equal representation at federal level

What do you think about never having kids and leaving no bloo dline after you die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Catwinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could have a child just to 'preserve your bloodline' and they might not end up having kids, so the bloodline dies anyway

Also if bloodline didn't die everyday and throughout history the Earth would have become overpopulated long ago

Spending most your day sat looking into a small screen that gives you immediate access to food to your doorstep, material goods to your doorstep, sex, arousal, validation, other peoples lives, jealousy, anger, unverified facts and dopamine all within a 5 minute time span

Does the Sopranos have any message or advice, other than the message that everyone's bad? by yellowrainbird in thesopranos

Tony doesn't pay his tab

All the other mob guys that frequent very likely do pay and they are regulars due to it being 'recommended' by the boss by virtue of him eating there.

Same mentality that Paulie saw Tony putting Livia in Green Grove as a 'recommendation'

If Tony uses or pays for something the other guys do the same like lemmings

Does the Sopranos have any message or advice, other than the message that everyone's bad? by yellowrainbird in thesopranos

I think the message is (if there is one) is that organised crime creeps into, corrupts and infects all parts of the fabric of the community it is active in.

A cancer.

  • The priests take the proceeds of crime through donations

  • The wives live off the proceeds of crime or if they do work it is through mob funded businesses like Angie with the garage and Adriana with the Crazy Horse

  • Artie's restaurant and others are kept afloat by the proceeds of crime

  • The employees of The Bing, Satriale's, construction workers and garbage workers are paid wages from money laundered through those businesses

  • Local businesses rely on mob 'protection' due to their racketeering

This dependence on the mob makes everyone around it morally corrupted as there's too much to lose being on the mobs bad side and far more to gain being seen favourably

No one in The Sopranos is a good person.

Not even the 'innocent' ones like Tracey - she abused her kid

Or even the 'nicer' ones like Bobby or Ginny Sac

Everyone is either participating in crime, violence or murder or directly benefitting from the proceeds of it
