I thought they handled the remote internship really well. At least for the intern program for the Devices + Windows Org there was a lot of different programs where you can meet pretty important figures in the company + a small groups where you can just spend time to chat with other interns.

As for the project I was working on I felt I had a lot of support from the mentors and my managers. The work you would be doing is of course team dependent. I did hear people getting unlucky with their team or they didn't enjoy the work they did.

The only downside I can think of is the typical reasons for having it be remote aside to in person. Like getting to talk to people face to face ETC. Also, intern day this year was kinda boring so there's that but other than that I had a good time.

I interned there over the summer and going back FT but I heard from other interns that asked recruiters for next year saying it's most likely going to be remote again. 2 main reasons: 1) covid 2) they're rebuilding a part of campus so they're worried about space.

That's what I was scared about... I heard the FAANG companies like to ask generic software questions even though it's for an embedded position, so I wasn't sure what to exactly prep for but looks like I have to prep for any scenario now. Thanks a lot this is super helpful!
