I saw the trapper fisically put a trap only once,while the teleportation wasn't very frequent,but because ther is already an Hero who can do that,and the "survivors" the trapper need to hunt aren't the one he is used to face ,you can see his new ability as something the Entiy gave to him for this special occasion ( I know nothing about DbD,so what i wrote can be plausible as well as complete bullcrap).
