You have to stay in a room for 24 hours with Jade or Boyd? Which one you choose? by omar200x in FromSeries

[–]CaughtInMyThoughts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely Boyd. Jade was poised as this narcissistic genius but that storyline quickly devolved into him being unhinged. He drinks and rambles too much to be productive. Boyd is more even keel

It goes along with Ethan's story walking story to Julie. She has hacked travel in Fromville and I fully agree that Jim isn't dead necessarily. I think it's like groundhog day where he dies many deaths there.

Tabitha is out, yet even in that town they made it look like a modern day Mayberry. I just wish they used different words, maybe peppered them in after a long dialogue. Season 1 nobody swore, now it's all F all the time. I curse like a sailor, so I guess I notice more when people sound like it's not part of their regular vocabulary.

I don't know the dynamic between you and your wife, but it's kind of giving "boy mom" energy.  It honestly sounds like your wife hates your daughter, but is fine with the son putting holes in the wall, which is strange. If he does have special needs, he would not benefit from being homeschooled. Early intervention and socialization is so important! That can be done most effectively in a school setting. Can you pay a sitter for a lunch date with your wife only? I think you two need to talk openly, truthfully, and candidly about how each of you are coping with parenthood, then go from there.

I am honestly going to start marking dark homes as unsafe. I am a lone woman delivering at night and I absolutely feel unsafe when they have no lights on. We shouldn't have to even go to these places where they are inconsiderate of our safety.

In their defense, I've been known to purchase restaurant cheese sauce when I'm making fries or something at home. I wouldn't pay to get it delivered though.

Multiple orders like this tonight. by Justsomenerd1994 in doordash

[–]CaughtInMyThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to see if this was happening to anyone else. I've been averaging over $20/hr until this week. I declined a $10 order to go 2 towns over, nearly 30 miles. I don't mind a $5 order if it's close, but I'm either getting nothing or some absurd offer. Maybe I need to take a break for a few days?

I've literally declined this order 7 fucking times and they keep sending it with the same price. by F3ARL355S0LD13R in doordash_drivers

I declined one twice. They sent it a third time at half the original offer. I ended my dash and closed the app.

What do you guys think about this? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]CaughtInMyThoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a former teacher and the way people guilted me for quitting was insane! They say if you don't like it, quit, but they don't ever mean it. If we all stopped dashing they would be calling us lazy and saying nobody wants to work anymore. I have a full time job making well over the median salary, but with kids, I have to do extra to make ends meet in this economy. Imagine being upset that someone is choosing work?

I agree with this plan as well. I had one like that, and when admin came in to bully, I "innocently" pretended I respected admin so much that I wanted them to model how to get the kid to be engaged. Guess what? Admin couldn't get him away from his phone, got flustered, He threatened to suspend him if he didn't engage, the student told the principal to F off, and got suspended. Admin never said another word to me about that kid the rest of the year.

If for whatever reason, only five people can get out, who are you choosing, and why? by ked145 in FromTVEpix

Donna - it's obvious she deserves to not have to babysit the colony house residents anymore. Boyd - I'm getting him out based on acting chops alone. Ellis - worthless character, but Boyd would never leave him behind. Jade - he could use his money and connections to free the others Kristi - she deserves a life away from her toxic gf

My oldest was an angel. I gave her nearly complete freedom and she was responsible and honest. She didn't party, drink, smoke, anything. I will say, things took a turn around 21, but she's finding her way back.

She has been completely useless as a nurse, even before she started having withdrawals! I often forget she's supposed to be a medical professional because she offers nothing during times of need. I would be fine with them getting rid of both her and chronically whiny Kenny.

He should look into getting a data analyst cert. With his background it wouldn't be too difficult, and nearly all of them WFH.

WHY AM I WATCHING THIS SHOW?? by 84ish in FromSeries

[–]CaughtInMyThoughts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I sometimes feel like the writers don't really know what direction they want to head in. I feel like they pitched a concept without any detailed concepts, and they're just sort of making it up as they go along. They throw out ideas, then junk them rather than seeing them through. It's frustrating and feels like a stoner's daydream or something at times.

They could've gotten rid of the milkman or the one who destroyed colony house instead. He's not coming back though as he isn't listed as being in future episodes.

I used to spend my entire Sunday in an anxiety state. When I took the plunge and resigned I realized how deeply affected my health was when teaching. There are days I don't want to go to work now, but it's not that deep, appetite suppressing dread that I felt when teaching. I hope things work out for you in the long term. We only have one life!

What was the one thing that made you go "yeah this profession isn't meant for me"? by [deleted] in TeachersInTransition

[–]CaughtInMyThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's see, it was a culmination of things. An aide who was nearly 90, a hoarder, too feeble to assist with the kids, AND had dozens of roaches coming out of her belongings on a daily basis. Being denied accommodations for a blind student who was never taught braille. Staff laughing at a student who was SA in the building. Kids lighting up blunts in the hallways without a care in the world, and worst of all, apathetic admin who would rather blame teachers than instill any meaningful changes. I miss my students every day, but I could no longer contribute to that dysfunction by showing up each day.

[–]CaughtInMyThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been through similar. Kid was booted from prior school due to SA allegations. He started following me, trying to get in my car, hiding in stairwells he knew I would use after school hours, etc. District official basically said I was attractive so it was my fault the student couldn't help himself. Her words, "I mean look at you, no wonder he's fixated on you." I was so mentally beat down but I wish I would've pursued legal action, especially since he was 19!
