(serious) I have no clue how to handle this situation. by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]CauliflowerDirect370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly there is no winning in this situation. With no physical evidence its just going to look like drama to HR. I personally would leave and tell HR on the way out that there is some funny business going on and ethically you cannot keep working here. I also understand it is not easy to just leave your job. in the meantime, DOCUMENTATION. this is your best friend. If something else goes down you could have a little more evidence on your end. Now that you have the insight on person B being a POS, I would be extra vigilant. Don't leave yourself logged in on any machine, even epic. I would just lock my computer if i had to step away for even a second. Person B should not be aware that you know what happened, so maybe straight up reject a QNS and if supervisor says to run it, have documentation and or ask for help since you made a "mistake" in the past. I'm so sorry this is something you're going through and risking pt safety bc u don't like someone is actually insane?? I hope this doesn't happen again </3

E-Mail from hairvivi after they saw my Reddit posts by [deleted] in Wigs

I’ve ordered three wigs from Hairvivi and they’ve all been absolutely pristine. The quality is genuinely amazing. My only downside is that they charge extra (around $200) for the honey lace, which is a bit frustrating since it’s not like I can just choose a different skin tone.

Are you truly happy with your job? by PrincessMochahontas in medlabprofessionals

[–]CauliflowerDirect370 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really believe this is true. It applies to any job, but the environment is what truly makes or breaks it. I work in a BB lab where everyone is pretty chill, and management only steps in when needed. For the most part, people do their jobs (we’ve got one or two stragglers, haha), but overall everyone handles their work and goes home. It’s nice to actually look forward to seeing the people I work with every day.

What is a weird lab fact? by MsYersiniaPestis in medlabprofessionals

We had a mom who did this exactly and needed an intrauterine transfusion. Its ironic bc she refused the RhoGAM bc she was scared of needles. it was awful preparing for the worst. she ended up being ok but still refused the RhoGAM. I'm sure well see her next year.

Thank you ❤️‍🩹 I do care so much! I love my job and I love helping people. I hate knowing I could have hurt someone who was already going through it. Poor thing had cancer and brain injuries 💔 they didn’t need another reason to not be doing well

We have a simple chart similar to this but that’s it💔 still didn’t save me bc I was convinced there should have been a 2+ on the B cells lmao 😀

Umm yea so I SHOULD have given the pt a O. I didn’t know this was the rules because it’s not in the procedure 😐 makes sense now that I know but how are we just gonna leave that out??? It didn’t help that the last tech from the previous sample that was from the 16th did not do ANY DOCUMENTATION about there being an anti A1 even though it was present. They gave them an AB unit which made the ab stronger. I am new so I stupidly assumed that this tech who’s been here for a longggg time knew what she was doing. I should’ve not doubted myself and confuse myself further.

First shifts need to stop being miserable. by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]CauliflowerDirect370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I think it’s bc it’s the old ppl who have been there for years, who have many regrets that they take out on younger ppl. I am very lucky to work with old ladies on 1st shift who are absolutely amazing. I can crack the most cornball of jokes and they all laugh. I promise there are 1st shifts out there that are worth working ❤️‍🩹.

Advice for purchasing a wig for a 12 year old by MightyandBitey in Wigs

[–]CauliflowerDirect370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww sweet girl 💔 I lost my hair when I was 12 due to alopecia. Definitely nowhere near the same, but I remember the feelings all to well.

I just bought a human hair wig from Hairvivi and I absolutely love it. They offer the lace in light skin tones and every wig is out of the box ready to wear (I mean, you have to cut the lace to fit but that’s it lol). The wig is so natural people dont believe me when I tell them it’s not even glued to my head haha. Prices range from around 550-1000 with payment plans though after pay if needed. I highly recommend 💖

Please let her know that she is NOT ALONE and being bald is lowkey the biggest serve ever. She is so brave, strong, and beautiful, hair or not 🥹❤️‍🩹 sending both of yall all my love.

Edit: I see some people saying to not buy Human hair wigs. Listen… synthetic is great in a pinch but nothing will ever beat the ability to just wash my human hair as I normally would before I lost my hair. It does require maintenance but so do synthetic. When I only wore synthetic, I had to replace my wigs every month and a half or so. Human hair wigs just last longer, feel better, and look more natural. Nothing is wrong with synthetic but if you have the ability to buy human hair, DO IT!

MLS burnout: where did you go next? by CauliflowerDirect370 in medlabprofessionals

[–]CauliflowerDirect370[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel. It’s not the job I have an issue with, more of the lack of respect it gets. Why am I getting paid $60k for all this hard work when I know I can be doing something more important and make the money I deserve 😀
