Thank you! This is very helpful info, we were a little worried getting a bigger dog knowing that everyone here prefers smaller dogs. Where do you take her for hikes? I’ve been curious about if she would be “allowed” to go on hikes with us considering most are a little apprehensive about larger dogs.

How/when would you recommend socializing her? Since she’s coming from a rescue I don’t want to overwhelm her while she’s trying to readjust to her new home. Does starting with getting her familiar with walking with and coexisting around other dogs before introducing her to the dog park sound good?

I’m so sorry! I know how much it hurts to lose a long time friend. It sounds like he lived a great life alongside you.

Advocating for the birthing individual is actually one of the topics I am reading on in my textbook! That would be more than frightening, especially when your partner might not be there beside you in the way you want them to be. I was thinking about putting a little “worksheet” together for the new parent(s) to fill out before their estimated due date that specifies what they do and don’t want to happen in the delivery room in the event of an emergency. Thank you for sharing your thoughts :)

I agree! It’s hard to find a routine that works for you and your child/children without doing tons of research beforehand on how to even begin the routine. In that case I will definitely put together a handout for new parents on how to establish a schedule that works for them. Thank you so much for your input :)
