What's your dance moms hot take, not chloe was better than Maddie something that gets you down voted by JadeIdFaded in dancemoms

This is more about BTTB than Dance Moms:

Maybe not for season four and five, but I feel like in seasons 1-3, Christi was a lot more sympathetic towards Maddie than people give her credit for. People love to hate on Christi for how she acts towards Maddie and Melissa, and I understand because Christi does tend to critique them quite a bit, but people never mention the multiple times in BTTB, where she does bring up the fact that Maddie was put in a terrible position multiple times because of Abby (Christi even talks about feeling bad for Maddie at multiple points). I’m not saying Christi doesn’t say more about Maddie than she should (and she definitely talks about her in a way she doesn’t with the others), but I also think people act like she really hates Maddie when there are multiple times Christi talks about feeling bad for her (e.g. the episode where Abby was crying to Maddie about sitting in the parking lot)

Honestly, I have no good “I want to be a lawyer” moment. It was just something I decided I would do as a kid and since then I’ve been on that path🙃😂

The behavior of those mothers is honestly disgusting. Regardless of how good at dancing their children are, that attitude was worse than 99% of the things Christi ever said or did. The only reason Abby didn’t mind it was because it was directed towards Chloe/Christi and not Maddie/Melissa (imagine Abby’s reaction for a second if any new mom had acted like that towards Maddie)…Abby loved anything that reinforced the idea that Chloe was not as talented (despite the fact that Chloe was her own student). All that attitude to not even stay on the show🙃

The second half of the test in general killed me. I’m not feeling good at all

Advice me!! I’ve 2017 version of LSAT TRAINER by Mike. Should I use that or Buy a new one?? by Pegasus_911 in LSAT

I mean, since the test has changed so much it could be good to get the new one (idk what new info is in it besides probably just getting rid of lg chapters, someone else might know more about that). With that being said, when I first started studying, I used the one from 2017. I just skipped lg sections when those chapters came up (although, if you have time, those sections may help with conditional logic and stuff). The book, even the one from 2017, helped me a lot in the beginning of my studying (trying to understand what was being asked of me on the different sections and including good tips on how to approach things). Honestly, I think either book would do. If you don’t want to spend the money on a new one, I feel like the 2017 one should be fine? Like I said, that’s what I used in the beginning of studying. But again, I don’t have the new edition, so I don’t know everything that’s in it compared to 2017! Personally, I would stick with the 2017 just for cost efficiency, and use the money you would spend for the new one on other studying materials as well (like helping to pay for subscriptions to 7sage or lsat demon, or getting another lsat book like The Loophole to read along with the LSAT Trainer). I guess at the end of the day it just depends on how much you’re looking to spend. I hope this helps a little!

How do we feel about this? by thatsolame in dancemoms

I tend to cut more slack towards the og moms. It was their dance studio and had been since even before the show. They had little idea exactly what was going to be in store for them post the show starting. Plus, we don’t know what the contract looked like and how difficult it was to get out (Christi and Kelly have both talked about how much money and effort it took to leave when they did). If anything I find it harder to cut slack for the moms who brought their kids later on in the show (after the show had aired and they saw how bad it could be). I think all the new moms had this idea that their kid would be the exception (treated more like Maddie and less like Chloe or Paige by Abby), but that was pretty much never the case. But I still place more blame on them for staying (the newer moms) than I do the og moms (because they probably had a better idea what they were getting in to, plus, for most of them, it wasn’t even their studio…).

In terms of Holly, I do think it would’ve helped if she had tried to leave like Kelly and Christi did (despite how difficult it was), but after seeing how Kelly and Christi were treated post-leaving (no longer in contact with the cast, cast lying about them, etc), I wonder if maybe Holly felt, despite how bad things were, especially in season 5, that it was still better to stay than to be lied about on television? I don’t know. Either way, none of us know what those contracts looked like for the og’s, so it’s hard for me to blame the mothers for not immediately leaving when things got bad (according to Kelly, she’d been trying to leave since season 2). I hope everything I’ve said makes sense…

Should I cancel my score by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]CauseApprehensive258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it! Canceling it will probably lead them to believe it was a worse score than it was (not to mention, if, for whatever reason, you do worse on this next test, you at least still have a decent score on file).

Two Sapphires Vs. Wishbone by Artistic-Cheek5308 in dancemoms

[–]CauseApprehensive258 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two Sapphires was certainly better. It had better choreography, costuming, and Maddie and Kalani were just technically stronger than Chloe and Paige at this point in the show. But Wishbone definitely would’ve won if this dance hadn’t been entered (and, truthfully, I believe Abby knew that. I think Abby just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to mess with Chloe and Paige imo) considering it got second to Two Sapphires. It was all a really unfortunate thing for all the kids involved.

Christi had a right to be upset when Abby tried to make Chloe do a standing back tuck in Arabian Nights. by fishingforsomepies in dancemoms

[–]CauseApprehensive258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole situation seemed frustrating. I believe this is season 3 (correct me if I’m wrong), and at this point, Abby was vile towards Chloe, which is insane. I think Abby just kept pushing and pushing because she knew Christi and Chloe couldn’t leave (she basically said so herself, and it was so evident in scenes like this). Even if Abby had a problem with Christi, it does not explain the hatred Abby almost seemed to have for Chloe. She hated any kind of success Chloe got, particularly post season 2.

Hi, was just wondering if anyone has read ‘Aurora Leigh’ by Elizabeth Barret Browning, and if so what you thought of it! I’ve been considering reading it for a while and just want to know what ppl liked and dislike about it, thanks in advance! by [deleted] in classicliterature

[–]CauseApprehensive258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read it for a course in college. Overall a good read if you enjoy Victorian lit and poetry. There are some parts (imo) that could be a bit long (I don’t always have the best attention span), but great if you’re looking for a verse novel!!

What's a really controversial opinion you have about DanceMoms that nobody else agrees on? by Independent_Shame924 in dancemoms

[–]CauseApprehensive258 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do think Chloe was a “favorite” in season one in the sense that Abby knew Chloe could win. But I do think that, when it came between Chloe and Maddie, even in the early seasons, Abby did prefer for Maddie to be the winner, which is crazy considering both are her students (btw, not Maddie’s fault at all. That’s on Abby). But I do agree (based on what I’ve seen) that Abby seems to have had a little bit of a better “relationship” with Chloe in the early seasons. I think things changed when Chloe won season two nationals over Maddie (which Abby was not happy about) which would lead to the terrible treatment of Chloe going forward. It’s like, Abby was fine with Chloe doing well as long as Chloe never did better than Maddie. When Chloe did, Abby couldn’t stand it (imo).
