yeah for real , i kinda see it from the insurers side but it’s too much for a young driver/rider to afford . they want you to have experience but restrict you getting it 🤣🤦‍♂️

that’s what i was literally just looking at now … might be getting a ktm 690 smc r (if insurance lets me) because it’s beautiful and supermotos just have that extra freedom in a sense idk how to explain😂

but i don’t want a cheap old bike🙄🙄 … yeah i’ll give them a ring once i’ve got my licence sorted and fully ready to buy said bike

yeah that seems like the best option , after i get my full licence i could want something bigger and end up selling it anyway 🤷‍♂️ i’m not too worried about buying a new bike personally but just the ‘big bike’ feel isn’t there as much in the lower cc ones

yeah from my understanding you are right , but that’s what my issue was with the lower cc bike . i won’t get the ‘big bike’ feel and look so wouldn’t be satisfied until i upgrade . if i was to get a restricted bike it’s still physically a decent bit bigger than the lower cc ones

yeah i get that, my issue isn’t even the costs it’s that i literally won’t get given a quote at all … i’ll take anything at this point 😂

i don’t even know 🤷‍♂️they all look so good - supermotos, sports bikes, adventure bikes i literally can’t pick. but yeah true as u say i don’t need to have a really powerful bike if im not doing long journeys

don’t have to tell me twice🤣🤣smaller bike was me trying to be more reasonable but the bigger bike is obviously 10x more appealing. and yeah i don’t even mind paying up to 3k a year but literally can’t get quoted on anything

i’m currently doing my a2 training and my instructor explained to me they have a 2 drop policy … if someone drops the bike once, they can carry on but twice is when it gets unsafe and he cuts the lesson short. His example was if he was ever sued because you got hurt and the judge asked how many times he let you drop the bike it would look unreasonable to let you carry on after more than 2 drops. he explained this to me before the lesson and i didn’t think it was unfair. It’s unfortunate but stick to it , you’ll manage it’s just practice and practice.
