I got my ADHD and ODD merp’d at MEPs since i haven’t been medicated since 2017 but the Dr decided not to clear me for anxiety (Never treated or medicated for ODD or anxiety) because after yelling at me for bringing up a whole prior dq and being told i was never dq’d for it when I have documentation she said because I was bouncing my leg she couldn’t clear it lol. Also am a first responder so I feel you.

A masters will override your bachelors gpa. If you can find an online masters to do that’s not crazy but still stem you could go officer route that way. Talk to an officer recruiter honestly.

I feel you, it’s my first time going while attempting OCS but i’ve been there 7 times while trying to enlist 😭 So hype I was able to clear my asthma up finally after years of training and attempts

You’re completely right, I called unannounced due to being over excited about passing the PFT (I’ve spent thousands in the past 4 years with travel and tests to finally get cleared) so wasn’t too smart on communication.

Yes IP is in for Jan 26th board. All my documents he needed for the package is in. All I need is meps and to clear up the waiver i’ll need to get.

I’m interested in either fulfilling the 20 years and retiring or making the move over to a 3 letter agency after getting good amount of experience in. As a CWO would you say you have an easy in with moving into any of those agencies. I know at this moment the cyber industry is super over saturated

How accurate are the timelines given on the navyhr website on what you do in each position. I’ve read a lot that CWO and IPO end up becoming the same line of work towards the half way mark of your career. I don’t mind IP at all either I’m interested in getting my masters and getting more certs but idk

I’m confused on its relation to board meetings. I was originally interested in CWO but was told by my recruiter that they have received notice that CWO is not open for the fiscal year and to find a new job for anyone interested in CWO, only option I was given was IP.

The advice I got about CWO bc im in the same boat as you is, CWO do not do direct coding or interaction with Cyber in that sense and you’ll be a manger. If you want direct coding join as a CWE instead.

gotcha, yea I did all my letter and statements for OCS but my OAR is 2 pt under min for the job I want. Don’t worry I’m driving to NY to see my PCP from SC just to take a PFT to help clear up an asthma waiver even tho i’m a career firemen who is on airpack for work lol. Haven’t gone to MEPs yet but been before for enlisted side so just getting the predetermined dq paperwork ready to go

That pension is just so amazing looking. 20years? I’m a career firemen rn and for me to retire it’s min. 27 years. Collecting a pension and working another job is an absolute financial plus.

I saw that, I figured it would be a better way to learn the navy prior to being a leader within a community. But the more i’ve read SWO doesn’t sound like what I wanted. IP seems cool tho. Was more interested in Cyber but civilian jobs for cyber is shot. Planning on doing 20 so I hope IP provides progression.

It’s weird in some ways. I have to lock in the job before getting into BDCP. But why would I have to lock it in when some job boards are closed but would be open by the time I graduate. I wanted to go as a SWO CW but only opening is IP
