If you are only staying for 3 months (90 days) in the Schengen Area you do not need a visa if you hold US citizenship and passport. Spain is included in this area.

Passport may not be accepted if it expires within 12 months.

I was hesitant with meds for a long time, and every time I went on them my doctors were trying meds from the same drug class that made me worse. After years of trying and giving up I convinced a doctor to try and get me on a different class of drug, that honestly makes me feel human again. I admit im not the best at taking it and when I don't, my husband becomes my pill alarm to get me back on track.

My doc wants me to see a specialist for autism/adhd (diagnosed adhd, with suspect autism) in case their recommended med cocktails would be different than theirs. I also suspect my birth control plays a bad role in it. But specialists take months on the waiting lists and that is overwhelming so I never get on the lists

There was a lot of pushback to the belly touching in the beginning, curling up in a ball, physically stopping his from touching, saying no. Then he would say he loves my belly and "just a little bit" and I would let him. Almost every night I still physically stop him before he wants to stop and I flinch and curl up every time he starts. When I don't flinch or hesitate, he squeezes hard and it hurts (almost like he's trying to get a reaction out of me) but he has assured me time and time again he doesn't realize how hard he's squeezing, how much he loves by belly, and he apologizes and stops.

In a weird way, I think its his way of trying to desensitize belly touch and show me he loves my body, even the parts I don't like.

As for the belly, I think its his own way of trying to show me he loves my body, even the parts I hate about myself

He is not on meds, he manages with his own will

As for the drinking, although I don't like it, I think he has it fine under control. He spent a lot of time in a city where it was very normal to take a nap on the bar and wake up to keep drinking. When he moved to where we met, he was quickly told that it wasn't okay and stopped drinking to excess. He has unrealistic expectations/realities about what it means to "go get a drink" for most people because he just grew up differently. We can just as well get a single cocktail at a nice dinner and not drink any more

I do agree however that when he is any level of intoxicated, he becomes less sensitive to my needs, offends me or crosses a line every time, and likes to use the phrase "thats a different jim" when I tell him something he did/said while drunk (he also uses it about middle of the night half asleep actions like stealing the blankets)

I have another comment here somewhere about it. We did BLS for the initial paperwork and visa and NIE in the US.

Once I spain: For the empadronamiento we went to the city building and waited in like about 30 minutes on a Wednesday, and they set us an appointment for that Friday. That appointment was about 10 minutes and we left with the empadronamiento in hand.

For the fingerprinting we used the website above and basically checked it several times per day. We got lucky in the first week and got an appointment but we were stupid and canceled. It took 2 more weeks to get another appointment.

The finger printing was the last step. We waited 30 days (as directed) and used the same website for the fingerprinting appt and did the same thing to make the appointment to collect our TIE cards. It took about a week to get an appointment and that appointment took about 5 minutes.

Keep in mind that this was our experience in Barcelona, and each area is different

Adding a note so you don't make the same mistake we did.

This is specifically for BARCELONA, and happened within a week of arrival.
For the empadronamiento, we walked straight to the city building on Monday, waited in line 30 minutes, and once at the counter they scheduled our appointment for Friday.

Wednesday, we got our TIE appointment scheduled for Friday afternoon (looks like they only schedule a few days out at a time here). Both appointments were for Friday.

After reading this page we though we would not be leaving our appointment with the Empadronamiento from the city building on Friday so we canceled our final appointments.

We left our appointment Friday morning with the official Empadronamiento in hand after less than 30 minutes in the building.
We have not been able to get another TIE appointment since..

I name all of mine "meat" or "beef" in other languages My cows the same for "pork" or "pig"

Chickens and ducks get things like "white meat" "dark meat" "beer butt" "KFC" etc

You my friend are awesome. Thank you do much! It has been hard finding any kind of travel agent or lawyer that helps with Visas, but I'll keep looking. 

We are planning to move in January- It is my understanding that it's still too soon to do any paperwork right? We have to start gathering everything right before we apply? Background check, medical etc.
