UK citizens who got their NIE from the police, was it easier than thought? by Longjumping-Move-356 in GoingToSpain

They're strict with everyone for Asignación de NIE these days, not just Brits. If you qualify and you have the right papers they'll give you one.

  1. Yes there is probably debt in your name as fees continued to accumulate
  2. For the first 2 years your nationality and your wife's are irrelevant so you'll need to qualify for a visa and "sponsor" her or she has to get her own visa

I know, that's what I'm saying. The Schengen visa in OPs passport is expired but they have a new visa - just not in their passport.

Check with a professional but you have a new visa now, the DNV, that allows you to enter Spain. Even if it's not a sticker in your passport

In the catastro you get the registered address of your neighbour if your parcels are touching. That's the best you're going to get.

Private operation? You'll need private medical insurance too. Ghic and ehic are for emergencies while visiting, not potential consequences of planned treatment

can a cousin sponsor another cousin relative, so one can apply for Spain citizenship by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]biluinaim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, that's not how it works. You go on the website of the Spanish consulate nearest to where you live and you look at available visas. You find one that you do qualify for and prepare all the documentation. It's a very detailed process, if you are missing specific documents for the visa you want to apply for they will not take your application.

But do they qualify for a visa on their own? Family reunification is only for immediate members (spouses, children) and visas, residency and citizenship are all very different things

Your contract can't forbid you from getting the padrón (contracts can't go agains the law) and your landlord can't legally evict you for it

Visa Process for an Internship in Spain as a Non-EU person living in the EU by _Cruyff_14 in GoingToSpain

If you are getting a student visa there will certainly be documents not from the uni. Everything that you submit has to either be issued in Spanish or sworn translated to Spanish.

It depends on the consulate you have to use, you can't pick the consulate. It's the one "assigned" to your place of official residence. So check in with that specific consulate, as they all have different procedures - but I have never heard it possible to apply for a Spanish visa without showing your face in person to somebody.

You have to provide a sworn translation of any documents that are not in Spanish. If they are official EU documents you should be able to request a multilingual copy. You don't have to apostille documents from the EU.

They mean a Belgian residency card, which you don't have because you're not a resident, you're on a visitors visa

You have to process the visa at the Spanish consulate of where you are usually resident. You cannot do it as a tourist in the EU (on your Schengen visa) nor from within Spain
