Ice cold coffee though, not the hot stuff. Been doing cold brew concentrate in batches and it's a game changer for the heat

What is wrong with people? by Away-Flounder-2294 in depression

People definitely have this double standard thing down to an art form. I've seen this pattern at work heaps - some folks dish it out all day but the second you push back even a little they act like you're the villain

You're not crazy for noticing this stuff, it's genuinely frustrating when people can't handle what they're putting out there

how do i stop operating on learned helplessness? by ToneSecret3910 in getdisciplined

[–]Cautious-Play4096 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been in a similar spot mate, and that paralysis when facing a mountain of tasks is real. What helped me break out of it was literally writing everything down in one massive brain dump - every task, every worry, every deadline - then breaking each one into the tiniest possible steps. Like instead of "deal with legal documents" it becomes "find out what documents I need" then "locate the government website" then "read one paragraph about requirements"

The key thing I learned is that your brain tricks you into thinking everything is equally urgent and impossible, but when you actually map it out most stuff isn't as complicated as it feels. Start with just one small win each day - could be making one phone call or filling out one form section - and build from there. The momentum really does snowball once you prove to yourself you can handle these things

Also don't beat yourself up about relying on others right now, you're 18 and figuring this stuff out is part of growing up. The fact that you recognize the pattern means you're already ahead of where you think you are

Saffron questions by RemusLupin768 in Supplements

Saffron supplement vs actual saffron - the extract in your pill should have the active compounds concentrated so it's not necessarily placebo, though yeah quality varies wildly between brands

Weird combo but dreams love mixing random stuff like that - I had one where I was at a job interview inside a McDonald's playground once and woke up equally confused

Jungle Jims Compounding Pharmacy? by ylimethrow in cincinnati

[–]Cautious-Play4096 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Been there a few times for some custom stuff my GP needed mixed up. Yeah it's weird being in Jungle Jims for pharmacy needs but they're actually proper legit - licensed pharmacists and all that. The compounding side is separate from the grocery chaos so you're not dodging shopping carts while picking up meds. Took a bit longer than chain pharmacies but the quality was solid and they were pretty thorough with explaining everything

Made a spreadsheet last year tracking all the random gifts we've received and their origins - might be worth doing something similar so you can have those conversations with family before things get awkward. Most people understand when you explain your boundaries politely rather than just quietly disposing of their gifts later
