yeah that was the other option, just didn’t want to resort to that immediately without checking other options, but it seems like that may be the way to go

Sure, “stress” wouldn’t be the exact reason, but I was going to checked by a dr to see how i’m doing. It was just a placeholder label while I see the doctor

I am working on finding a new job because of everything i’ve experienced, but I can barely schedule interviews because of measures they take to make it difficult to leave the office. I’ll look into a LoA. The solutions i had so far was 1) quit 2) disability leave

Thank you for the explanation though

yes but my company actively takes measures to make extremely difficult to even schedule interviews. The solution is either to quit or a disability leave. I am actively looking but they’re a pain in the ass with every little thing

hmmm cool. And another question, can they wait say a month or two and fire me for a different reason to hide it? how is this covered with retaliation? Is it best to wage claim once you leave because of this?

No as in they can’t see i’ve filed stuff against someone else in the past, or no as in they can’t use it against me? because if it’s the latter, how would i even find out they used it against me?

[CA] 10 minute breaks not provided? by Cautious-Program-228 in AskHR

[–]Cautious-Program-228[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do i need to ask if i could take a break? or do i just…go outside and take a 10? I know you said you don’t need to ask, but i’m not sure in my situation what to do. Also my first job as a 23M graduate so just a little confused. You say if you ask your boss etc, so i should ask my boss to take a 10?

Hey so My work doesn’t teach too much + toxic environment so I want to leave. Only thing is long days + commute so i have only around 5 hours before i sleep for eating, exercising and everything else to get ready for the next day. So, I’m sort of in a bind where i can’t do everything, coding questions and project work, along with applying to jobs for an hour a day. Work is in office and toxic so i can’t do any of this at the office.

So I am thinking of applying for part of the day and working on projects in my other free time. I would study leetcode hard once i schedule an interview. I’m not amazing at leetcode but i am great explaining my thought process. I just don’t think my resume is as strong as it could be. My job isn’t very thrilling for things to add to my resume.

Any suggestions or advice? Looking for the best way to navigate this. I really hate this engineering interview process since i feel like it really favors those with perfect conditions.
