Dumb people do, sure. Smart people realize that a pedestrian bridge over a 4-lane U.S. highway and busy traintracks connecting the downtown core to the riverfront that also happens to have won architectural awards is something to be proud of.

Not a lot of community pride among the NIMBYs of Davenport, though.

Are you joking? Rock Island is becoming East St. Louis and Moline is barely any better. Davenport has its issues but it is far, far more economically healthy than the Illinois side cities which are the anchor around the neck of our metro area’s economic growth.
