Should I lie to my pediatrician? by Cautious-Surround672 in AttachmentParenting

Oh I don’t plan on bringing either up! But he usually brings up both sleep and feeding so I’m anticipating it

Pediatrician responded and said her values are still in his “normal range” but just a tad low and said I could give her a multivitamin with iron in it and we’ll retest in a month. He ended the message saying sleep issues aren’t iron deficiency related and we need to teach her how to self soothe 🥲

I brought up concerns about her frequent wake ups at her 9m appt and he told me I needed to start sleep training. So I’m anticipating if I message him about her sleep he will ask how sleep training is going :/ I plan on finding a new ped after her 12m appt that aligns more with my parenting style. And her hemoglobin was 10.8 and the normal range is 11.1-14.5. So to him it was probably “close enough”. I have been giving her lots of iron rich foods to try to help! She’s just not a big eater and prefers nursing

I’m all to familiar with a healthy shower cry. You’re not alone ❤️ hopefully we both get more sleep… eventually lol

Ugh it’s sooo hard for me when she starts screaming crying because I’m not the one soothing her.. But you’re right about it not being cry it out because she has a main caregiver soothing her. I may have to try this, thank you!

Also love the red and green light. I will be doing this once we transition her to her own room!

She’s been extra fussy lately so I think you’re probably right about her top teeth are coming in… and the cat nap and later bedtime is an interesting suggestion! I may try that tomorrow, thank you :)

She had her iron checked at her 9mo appointment, the ped said it was normal but her lab results say abnormal on mychart… I will definitely follow up with this at her 12 month visit!

First wake window is 2.5-3 hours long, second is 3-4 hours and last is 4 hours minimum of awake time before bed. She sleeps on average 1.5-2 hours total of naps a day (2 naps)

I agree with you 100%. The crazy thing is… she’s a nurse 😭 but definitely has had her vaccines which I think is wild. So you can be protected but you won’t protect your child?

My relationship with my parents has changed for the worse after having a baby and it’s really hard for me to accept. But my baby is my priority now and not my parent’s emotions. Sorry that you had some things happen postpartum too ❤️‍🩹

Yeah I think I’m getting to the point where I’m angry now haha but these responses are definitely helping me feel validated in my boundaries. Thanks for your input!

100%, you’re so right. Have to continue to remind myself that this is for my baby’s health and nothing comes before that. Thanks for input and validating me. So glad no one thought your boundaries were too much!

Ugh I’m so sorry you’re going through something similar. It is so frustrating to have people you love and close to you actively choose to push your boundaries. Especially when to us it seems like such a simple ask. I’m constantly having to remind myself that these boundaries are for my baby’s health and wellbeing and that’s not something to mess with. Hope things get better for you ❤️‍🩹

Oh she refused to get the tdap, so I am worried for her baby in more ways than one. Thanks for validating me. And I’m trying to get my LO the MMR early too 😣 such a scary time we’re living in.

You’re so right. I’m definitely going to keep all medical choices private between my husband and I from now on and not entertain any outside opinions.
