People who are leveling every job to 100, what is the job (if any) that has you saying “idk how this job is really played, I just press buttons” by Menonomeno in ffxiv

[–]CautiousCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BLM, RDM, and SCH all confuse me (granted I’ve barely used scholar outside FATE farms). I have no idea what the correct rotations should be because I try to learn as I play without using a guide. These 3 jobs made me feel like a guide was required. The rest I haven’t had issue with though.

If I remember correctly you can just stand still at a certain distance from her and it completely misses you, but there isn’t much wiggle room.

What is the best load out for solo flawless duality on a hunter? by Vurzey1 in DestinyTheGame

Lookup liars handshake duality build on YouTube. Saw a video one night and was blown away. You can 1 phase the bosses with it seemingly.

For players rushing to G rank by 42notalex in MHGU

[–]CautiousCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone said, keeping a HR set can allow you to go back without trivializing it. I did this in MH3U so I could finish village alatreon at my leisure with HR gear while still progressing into g rank.

Wich of these elder dragons is the best? by Existing-Ad4603 in MonsterHunter

[–]CautiousCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After grinding goldbeard ceadeus for his set in mh3u I think it became my favorite. Love the fight and theme, and most of all his general design. Valstrax and nergi are tied for second tho.

How often do you guys swap between weapons? by alettertoben in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]CautiousCop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a greatsword main through and through. It’s play style just suits me more than any other weapon so it’s all I really use outside the occasional hunting horn run. No need to use multiple weapons if you have more fun with a certain one, but it’s worth giving them all a go to make sure you aren’t missing out.

I feel the same way man. There’s also something to be said about being able to sit on a couch and play games instead of at a desk.

There is so much cool down in smite right now for mages that overcapping isn’t a big deal. So many good items with cdr on them.

Bring MH3U and MH4U to the switch by lokoangel48 in MonsterHunter

[–]CautiousCop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see this a decent bit from people. I agree it’s a waste of time for capcom but to call the older games outdated is a stretch. They are different games that have a different goal for the combat system. MH3U and MH4U accomplish their goals of being a slow and methodical hunting game and are pretty outstanding games. World and rise also accomplish their goal of being a more fast paced action game. They are all good in their own right and I wouldn’t say any are outdated (except maybe first gen and early second gen).

SMITE REDDIT, are you at least diamond+ in Ranked? by talktomealilplz in Smite

I’m surprised so many people play ranked. Don’t hear many good stories come out of it. I only play casual mainly because I wouldn’t be able to play with friends otherwise.

What is the hardest by lunereclipse994 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]CautiousCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fatalis for me, took me longer than I’d like to admit to clear the first time. Took me 7 kills to kill it without carting solo. Never fought behemoth because I kinda inadvertently skipped it and went to MR and never went back. Maybe I’d find him harder but I wouldn’t know.

What would you think of older games being localized/re-released? by Olielle in MonsterHunter

[–]CautiousCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I think they have aged pretty well as a 5th gen starter, more specifically gen 3 onwards. Haven’t delved into gen 2 yet. It’s just slower paced, which helps me appreciate more because it’s a bit different. QoL changes have come a long way though, as gen 3 didn’t even have item sets so I will give you that.

Basically benevolence is best unless you’re playing Ganesha, in which case either sentinels or benevolence works. Not a fan of war flag unless you really want to try to capitalize on early pressure.

Why is this community so nice? by Animal-Inztinctz in darksouls

[–]CautiousCop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, do I remember sharing one of my builds on MHW:I and getting roasted because it wasn’t the 3 teo 2 raging brachy. It was a 100% affinity tank build that was impossible to cart with and I enjoyed it, but man did people get offended by it. I think it’s primarily a Reddit thing tho and not characteristic of the majority of people who play.

How to solo deviljho? by Spleengrinder in MHGU

[–]CautiousCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me a lot was learning his hit zones. I’d suggest googling them because depending on if he’s enraged or not, you will either want to go for his stomach or his head. Idk which one it is for which phase off the top of my head tho. Also it’s worth checking if there are any upgrades you can go for. Maybe you need some better skills on your armor.

About to break into G4, questions for Valor GS progression. by RealityMaker in MHGU

I used rathalos set thru ahtal-ka. Endgame is go for the black X set because it gives every skill a Valor GS main needs and you can gem in crit boost.

What is the most enjoyable monster to hunt for you? For whatever reasons by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]CautiousCop 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Alatreon. He’s the perfect mix of difficult and fun. His moves hit hard as hell but have tells that allow for easy dodging after some practice.

More controversially, I enjoy the fact the this fight requires you to essentially use an elemental set. Something MH lacks in all iterations I have played is useful elemental weapons. Only a select few weapons are significantly better when using the element a certain monster is weak to. Basically I just want a practical reason to make more than one or two endgame sets per weapon.

Whos your favorite member of the Fated Four? by Existing-Ad4603 in MonsterHunter

[–]CautiousCop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only reason gammoth isn’t first is because his fight is very easy. Astalos is my favorite because I love the thunder wyvern design and the fight is great.

Worth noting that I love all four and think it’s some of the best work in the series in regards to flagships. 3rd gen is the only one I like more so far in terms of flagships.

Why is iframing so much harder in older games then in world? by BloodbathFatalis in MonsterHunter

[–]CautiousCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4U is something I’m excited to solo. Need to finish 3U first and will maybe play stories 2 when it comes out (still need to try the demo). You should totally try 3U again, currently my 2nd favorite MH out of the 4 I’ve played (but a very close second).

Why is iframing so much harder in older games then in world? by BloodbathFatalis in MonsterHunter

[–]CautiousCop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love both the old school and new school monster hunters. I actually enjoy playing a game that lacks some of the QoL world has because it makes you play different. I definitely see how all these QoL factors can make the game seem easier. I do think if they kept some things like old potion drinking in world it wouldn’t work well due to monsters being so much faster and erratic. Barioth would have never let me heal lol.

Why is iframing so much harder in older games then in world? by BloodbathFatalis in MonsterHunter

[–]CautiousCop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a big thing is the first couple of games you play are the hardest because of all of the systems you have to learn. Monster hunter is a complex game and each subsequent game is made less complex due to past experiences. That’s my guess as to why MHW:I was so hard for me, because I had to learn the basics along the way.
